Well, don't forget the "idiot kicker" they have him too.
The Romo story is a feel good thing.  I don't care for the Cowboys either, there was too much about them being America's Team.  ugh.  No offense Level, I know they are your local team and all.
There is speculation that Jay Cutler will be starting the next game for the Broncos.  It will be interesting to see what happens there.

Katy,

Will the Steelers continue their run of turnovers this Sunday? Billick called the Steelers "the most talented team we've faced" this season.

No matter what, I see the Ravens-Steelers as a tense game all going all the way down to the final whistle, unless the turnover ratio favors one team by +3 or more.

A friend of mine is a big Steelers fan, and he had this to say:

1. The team misses Randle El and Jerome Bettis.

2. Roethelsberger's offeseason has effected him.

3. Opponents have studied the Steelers's tendencies since last year's Super Bowl run, and have adjusted their defenses accordingly.

4. With no great wideout to pair with Hines Ward, teams are now able to double team him.

5. The Steeler OL has slipped.

Ben is not the same, sort of.  Don't forget the last 9 minutes of the Brown's game, this is why they can't sit him out and won't consider it.  I think the absence of Randle El is a much bigger factor than that of Jerome Bettis.  We suck at fielding balls and Randle El's sure hands are missed.  And the gadget plays.  sigh.  How I miss 'em.

The Steelers vs. Ravens is usually a good game, with lots of hate.  I hope the Steelers can get something going early, as I think that is the only hope.  They can't play the Ravens like they did the Browns and hope to make up a deficit in the 4th quarter.

I'm not sure if the Ravens looked that good or PITT looked that bad. If BAL can defeat CIN in CIN on THURS, they'll be on their way to a division clinching romp.

As a team, BAL seems to be improving in all facets: special teams, defense, and offense.

Major ouchhhhhh, Katy. I only caught some highlights, including Cowher's post-game talk, but that's a tough one. Baltimore is that good, certainly on D.

They completely stopped the Steelers.  I wasn't expecting a shutout.  I didn't have expectations, but I figured the Steelers would at least be able to score.  Stick a fork in it, etc

In one of these threads I said weeks ago that Baltimore would challenge Indianapolis for the AFC title.  I didn't expect that San Diego would turn out to be this good; otherwise I still stand by that prediction.

Of course, I totally fucked up the NFC--but then so did everyone else.

Good god, the Pats game was an ordeal to watch.  Everyone in New England's locker room should be lining up to suck Asante Samuel's dick after he saved their asses in that debacle.

Starr to McGee... Staubach to Pearson.... Montana to Rice..... Grossman to Samuel.....

I tell ya'll, looking at this season, one phrase comes to mind: Holy Parity, Batman. How fucking many teams can be 5-6, or 6-5? How many teams look great one week, and suck the next?

Yep, that Pat's game was bizarre.  I thought the Bears would do something with that gift in final minute.  That was certainly short-lived.  Waiting for mbmbn to weigh in.

Good deal .

So.................. anyone willing to say Philly will upset the Colts tonight?

Me either.

And a great big ouch to Junior Seau, breaking his arm today. I wonder if that will end his career.

The reason the Raven as looking good are   1. Steve McNair and 2. Derrick Mason, both former Tennessee Titians due to the Salary Cap.    By the way Titians 24    NY Giants  21

The Titians (great artists, also), Titans, or as I call them, The Used To Be Oilers. Fisher will bring them back.

You won't get any argument from me about McNair being good.
The Giants are imploding.  Too much descension within the ranks, they are taking it public.  And Eli Manning is really sucking now.

It was a great game !!! I was on pins and needles the entire game. Screaming like a banshee most of the day. Trying to find creative synonyms for the word " fuck" since my 10 year old neice was watching with us. < I don't swear in front of children >

Too many turnovers. Jr. Seau going down was very very sad. A very very heartfelt thank you to Lovie for the time out call before the FG!  Brady vs Urlacher play was great. Ghost's 52 yard FG was Fabu.
The Bears defense was awsome. They created some great turnovers. Lucky for us, the O couldn't take care of business.
And yes, Stef.. the team should be giving Asante a few good BJs. Of course if the Bears had one, Lovie and company would have to do the same for the refs.

Cashman and company did their best to hand this one to the Bears, Week in week out I get more and more sickened at the play calling. The PI calls on NE were crap calls and then the little head banging move by Chicago that led to the *donnybrook*, no calls at all. WTF ? The missed face mask on Jackson as he was being drageed along the sidelines.
How about that bogus  Illegal Forward pass call on the Chargers today ?

Katie: I feel for ya, I didn't see the game but saw highlights. < hugs>  So let me ask you this.... if the Steelers can't make it to the SB, who is your second choice among the AFC teams?

Level: I bet you were a real Titans fan today and are now singing the genius of Jeff Fischer. LOL. Unofficial word on Jr is that he broke his ulna and radius. Pretty sure that is curtains for him . He's been a great fit for the team and will be missed.

Ummm, I'm taking Philly over the Colts. They're trailing right now, but I am sure they will come back. * lights a candle to the football gods*

It's an interesting season so far.... alot of " unexpected" play off contenders. Pretty exciting to watch it all unfold

                                  mbmbn

PS: Yea, Level I have been a bit quiet. Taking a little break from my computer. Real life has been a bit hectic, but I do like to come back for this thread.

: ) Told ya, Level.

I don't know which AFC team to pick.  I can go with the Pats, I like 'em.  I can't root for the Colts because I think my Dom would punish me in a not-so-fun way.  hehe

Junior's broken arm is sad indeed, what a classy guy he seems to be, thanking the fans for their support as he was taken off the field.  I guess this is career ending for him.  Also Troy Polamalu may be out for the remainder of the season.  (not that it matters anymore this season, but I hate to see him hurt).
