The games are of a different nature. American football requires thugery regardless of what the current Commish pretends. Would be interesting to know the literacy scores of footballers vs baseballers. Although, I will admit there was many a thug in baseball's bygone history. Ty Cobb comes to mind.

Looks arent everything, you cant tell a book by its cover, etc . . . I have read of footballers graduating from state university unable to read or write beyond sixth grade; it is quite unfair of me to generalize, however. But have you noticed that Penn State which touts the highest academic achievements of its footballers has not won a national championship in many years? And whither Harvard? On the other hand, the University of Miami (FL) became a powerhouse in the 80s openly crowing about its thuggery and even wearing combat fatigues to one championship game (which they lost . . lol!) It was really unfair of me to raise the issue of literacy. I withdraw from it. However, football is a brutal sport that requires brutal men. As George Carlin said: "Football is played on a gridiron in a stadium, sometimes called Soldiers Field or War Memorial Stadium." GEORGE!

There's no evidence he committed any murders, that's why the charges were dropped. There was no case. He chose his friends poorly. After this incident, Ray Lewis changed the direction of his whole life.

Ive been under the bleachers with that towel in my mouth so I couldnt yell getting a knee shot full of Benzocaine and Corticosteroids because the tournament wasn't over and my previous shot wore off. I've seen guys get off crutches and hop out onto a mat on one leg....and win. Greenstick fractures........just fuckin' tape it. A coach that recruited me won the olympic trials in 76.........with a fractured cervical vertebra. I had a teammate on the FB team who got concussed to badly that he had convulsions on the bench. Next series, he was back out there. I've personally been knocked unconscious on the field and gone back out the next series. I'm very glad that doctors are becoming more active on the sidelines instead of letting the coaches or worse yet the athletes make the decision. Maybe the next generation will be able to walk and sleep through the night without pain after age 40.

Except of course for the clothes he was wearing that he never produced, the testimony of his many associates (which contradicted each other on every detail) and all the other ways Lewis and his posse refused to cooperate with the investigation. Lewis either stabbed at least one of the men or knew who did. He did however make both families very wealthy to avoid civil lawsuits.
