Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say that it's because of these boards, that I made a new friend today. A few weeks ago, I ran into a particularly interesting post made by Songbird26, who was asking whether a straight woman could open her search up to Dominant Females as well as Dominant Males. Having played with people of both genders, I understood exactly what she was saying. I found her post to be intelligent, well articulated and sincere. As is my nature, I happened to check out her profile and when I saw the ambiguity (and felt the almost audible groan in her self identified location,) I sent her a note to see where exactly she was located. Fate would have it, she was less than an hour from me.

We started to mail back and forth and chat on the phone, and I got a real sense of her, and how not all that unlike me she was. We certainly had a meeting of the minds in mail, and I let her know about the local kink scene, and we made plans to meet at a munch last sunday. Well, as fate would have it, we, like much of the North East, were burried up to our necks in snow, and the munch was cancelled.

We chatted on the phone and finally settled on meeting at my home this afternoon. I can't say how much I enjoyed meeting her. Boys, take heed: this one's the real thing and fiesty as hell LOL. She's also smart, articulate, beautiful and no nonsense.

Above all, it's very rewarding for me to be able to give back to my community what it has given to me. I had someone 'take me under their wing' so to speak when I was new and helped me integrate into the community. Knowing Songbird26 allows me to repay those who were kind to me and allowed me to grow into the person in the scene I am today.

Songbird, you rock hon! Thanks so much for a really great afternoon.

Lily

Glad you two had a wonderful time. It's alwasy nice to find likeminded folks, especially local or semi-local ones, for companionship, guidance and friendship.

Thanks for sharing Lily...

Best,
Joshua

Ah, Lily, you flatter me! :-)

I just relocated to C/WNY from New York City, and I was a little concerned that I'd be entering something of a social wasteland up here. But in the first couple of days of being on this board, I encountered Protagonist_Lily, who was articulate and funny and clearly very wise!

We met yesterday, after the weather interfered with plans last week, and let me tell you, she is just as fantastic in person. So incredibly witty, sharp and smart and intuitive, and gorgeous too. She has probably forgotten more about this lifestyle than I'll ever know, and she is wonderfully generous with that wealth of knowledge. She's also a whole lot of fun to just hang out and chat with, and a great cook! She's the real deal, folks. And I'm very lucky to have gotten the chance to meet her. It's always a delight to make a new friend, and collarme helped it happen. Thank you, Lily, for all your kindness to me, and I can't wait to see you again.

Rats!!! I was supposed to meet Lily at that munch as well...and the horrible snow kept it from happening.

Well, Lily, you are still on the hook for that trip out to R.C. Steele...and our razors are on the way! I hope there is room for one more friend from the area.

Hey Songbird, will you be going to the re-scheduled munch this Sunday? I am thinking of taking my girlfriend, as she has never been to a munch (that is if we get back from TOKink on Saturday in time *smile*).

I'm so happy for you all. It's really nice to see people making positive connections with each other. I can only hope that in the future there may be an opportunity to make such connections via this site. Here's to wishing you a long lasting friendship.
