I usually get 3 layers when it's all said and done- and that's just going around the body one time all over and laying the plastic over itself.  Trust me, that's more than enough to get where you want to go.

I actually like a really thick layer - especially around the midsection if his hands like to roam.  Just don't keep someone in it TOO long if it is hot out, or they are one of those "furnace" people.  If they are getting woozy, just cut him out and give him lots of water.  I think it's safer than a dry sauna.

Pallet wrap is wonderful - you can get colorful big rolls (4 at a time, enough for you and a bunch of friends) from Uline.com.

Make sure you have nice sharp scissors, preferably bandage scissors, to slip between the film and the skin.

I use pallet wrap which is thicker than Saran wrap or even the commercial type saran wrap.

I use 3 layers of wrap maybe 4....I sometimes use duct tape or electrical tape or even rope around the feet ,the knees, the tummy ,the chest.
I have their arms tied together over their tummy under the wrap.

I keep bottled water and straws that bend on hand for hydration, safety scissors(2pair) for cutting plastic and tape.
I generally keep them wrapped up 30 mins to an hour. You can poke holes to allow heat to escape.I poke holes and drizzle hot oil,hot wax or cold water in the holes.

I have to say Plastic wrap is a favorite of Mine...

If your going to play with plastic wrap...especially pallet wrap, or any heavy industrial strength wrap, places like u-line also sell cutters specificaly made for cling/stretch wrap. They have an occluded blade, like a giant letter opener. The chance of blade to skin contact is nearly nill, and it is much faster then shears.

Plastic wrap is a blast, very restrictive, very fun, and if you properly prepare, pretty gosh darn safe.
I'm a particular fan of the pink anti-stat type....so cute. Nothing like a pig-tailed head struggling to escape from a pink caccoon.

There is also what is called "banding film" which is just reels of 3 inch wide cling film....great for trussing up when you still want easy access to....whatever.

I like to do 3 maybe 4 layers.
If they start to sweat poke some holes to let heat escape.
After they get unwrapped you should have warm blanket for them they will get a chill.
I dont leave anyone wrapped more than an hour.
