Aileen68 -> Fm Transmitters (10/26/2006 4:52:24 PM)

I just bought one of those FM Transmitters for my Ipod.
Now my Ipod cranks throughout my house through all of the stereo speakers.
Life is good.  I love technology when I can figure it out and get it to work the way it's supposed to.

Those FM transmitters are sometimes quite iffy. I prefer a front mounted mini-jack on devices so that I can plug from mini-jack out to mini-jack in. Nowadays car stereos often offer such a mini-jack feature.

I also like cds burned full with MP3s that will play in a car stereo also - short of a media PC in the vehicle, that's pretty cool.

FWIW, I don't like iPods much. I prefer smaller devices that are more user friendly. Samsung and Creative both makes some good items in that smaller than an iPod category.

I'll second your advice on the little creative MP3 players - I have three of them. They're super cheap and you can beat the hell out of them and they always hold up. I leave one in every vehicle. The all have built-in FM, too

"What's an Ipod?"

...a seriously over-priced mp3 player with a screen that keeps breaking and is manufactured in a sweatshop somewhere in the third world.......nasty thing.

You are so modern.  I'm still using a boom box (it does have a remote control).  I don't feel as cool as you!

Nah...I just got tired of the little ones getting their hands on every cd I owned and scratching them.

KatyLied -> RE: Fm Transmitters (10/27/2006 10:50:43 AM)

Years (and years) ago I had a little one who enjoyed putting paperclips in the "A" (diskette) drive of the computer.

Ouch
$$$$$

KatyLied -> RE: Fm Transmitters (10/27/2006 11:08:45 AM)

Would you believe it never caused any problem?

Aileen68 -> RE: Fm Transmitters (10/27/2006 11:13:38 AM)

My luck it would have fried my hard drive.

Edited to add that now all of the techy geeks (whom I love dearly) are gonna jump all over my ass and tell me that you can't fry a hard drive by inserting paperclips into the A drive thingy.

(whispering to Popeye)  "I think that is what they called those coconuts in the first movie the Body Snatchers"

That's a great description lol - I'd love to purchase an American, Canandian, European, or Japenese-made MP3 player.

Do NOT turn my happy, feel good thread into an American product/not made in America bashing.  Thank you and have a nice day.
