It's that time of year again where the ghouls, goblins and witches come knocking on your door with extortion on their evil little brains! Give them a treat or they will play some dastardly trick on you which is sure to cause chaos to your otherwise serene life. Do you give in to these little felon's??

Make your checkmark, then post a note about your favorite kind of candy. If you pass out candy, do you give what you like to eat or do you cheap out and give away Costco's by the bushel crap? Be honest now!

~~~~~~~~
I do pay off the little buggers.. and I adore Halloween. It's my favorite holiday and I have never outgrown dress-up. :)
I also buy the good stuff.. the same stuff I like to eat myself because, hell, if there are left overs, I want them to be made of chocolate!
Due to our determination to keep our kids away from additives and their grandparents' determination to keep them at a level of hyperactivity never before known in childkind, we have amassed a huge tub of candy which we gleefully hand out to any trick-or-treaters who come anywhere near the house, safe in the knowledge that any allergic/hyperactive consequences take place in someone elses' house
I live in the middle of no-where and most of the year the house is not really visible from the road. Even finding the lane entrance in the dark is a challenge. Hense, no mooching munchkins looking for candy.
However, when I did live in town I bought chocolate chocolate chocolate..........I have an addition to Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. I used to love getting in costume and having fun with it.
I only give out candy to the neighbors children that I know well. My children will have a Halloween party as it's not safe when most people I really know have moved out of the neighborhood so no trick or treating. I make small gift bags up for my boys friends...it's just not safe to let them go out anymore.
Chocolate what else? Though i have a weakness for Nerds.
We bought six bags of the kind we like in the  piece per bag assortments.
Godiva dark is my favorite but out of the Halloween candy it would be Milky Way dark.
Oh that sucks! If we lived in either of the towns nearby and had small kids I wouldn't worry at all, even about homemade goodies. One of the joys of living in rural/small town Iowa I guess.
Due to safely concerns parents have for candy, I give out cans of pop (Coke, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper). That way, it's really really obvious if the can has been tampered with (it leaks).   It also gets me discounts on yard work from the local chapter of Munchkin Extortionists...
If they've made an effort, I hand out pokemon cards, sweets, loads of good stuff. If its just teens with their hoods up and a 50p mask, they get a fright.
It is a shame that we can't celebrate Halloween the way we use to as children..I grew up in the same neighborhood that I live in now and it's nothing like it use to be...I would be terrified to give my children candy to eat if they went trick or treating....
I always make it a point to invest in plenty of good-quality chocolate name-brand candy, such as Snickers, Almond Joy's, Nutrageous, Kit-Kat, etc.  So, just in case not too many trick-or-treaters come around, I'm not stuck eating Smarties and Skittles.
(i didn't participate in this poll.)
We are not allowed trick-or-treaters for security reasons (per the office of the apartment community which we live in). We have security doors. People ring our apartment number and we buzz them in.
Last year at this time, i requested that we be allowed to leave the security door open for just the one night to allow the little gobblins to knock from door to door. Got a flat out, "No.". The little gobblins who live here are driven to other neighborhoods to beg for their loot.
If they were allowed ... i'd enjoy passing out candy at my door like i used to (at my previous addresses). i've always enjoyed seeing the little monsters in costume.
At our house this year .......we have a tinkerbelle, a funky-witch, a walmart-smiley-sticker (and a sexy--slave-witch accompanied by Irwin ---wearing His pit hat, with a stingray-fin stuck through His chest, both of whom will be attending an adult-themed BDSM Halloween costume party tomorrow evening .... Yippee! That's gonna be FUN!).
I'll most likely be sitting on the edge of the porch dressed up like a scarecrow.  The bowl of candy will be on my lap and I'll be swatting the lil nippers that take more than their fair share.  ;-)
My favorite candy to pass out is pixistix and coffeecrisp.
I give out the good stuff. Usually Almond Joy or Hershey's miniatures because that is what I like best. I do buy a bag of Sweet Tarts for me because I have a weakness for them. Now when my unmentionable did trick-or-treating the thing I rummaged out of her bag was the Bit-O-honey, Bottlecaps, and flavored Tootsie Rolls. But, truthfully if it isn't bubblegum or that nasty peanut butter taffy candy I will eat it and love it!
I put loads of crap in the way of my door, bins etc., so they can't get near me.
Four jack-o-lanterns done.  Hopefully I'll get a few more done before Tuesday.
