how does one know what their normal smell is when the first time they had sex with a new partner it'd been a month between last sex and new partner?

It'd beena  month inbetween sex contact of any kind and then my new bf and I had sex and he says my scent's changed and is very musky and bitter and it wasn't before and perhaps it's a yeast infection.

I've put a call into the obgyn to have it checked out, but I'm feeling very  vounerable at the moment because I have always worried my scent or taste is unpleasent and to have ti confirmed that yeah it's gotten a little bit bitter to point of unpleasant ness and musky since the first time he experinced it has left me feeling a little like balling up inside myself and hiding. He didn't say it to hurt me please nobody think he did, and we are trying to have the relationship where anything important can be said w/ith out it being taken punitivly or as punative, I'm just not feeling very secure right now.

We can be pretty sensitive to smell issues and it's likely not a yeast infection if you don't have any other symptoms.  My smell changes a bit, but generally in a certain range.  It might be HE was more sensitive that day or YOU were on a different time of your cycle...really have to give it a few times over different times of the month to get a real fix on whether the smell will be an issue or not.

Also I think the fact of a month of no sexual cntact not even much by masterbation  prior to our first contact would also change things. I know that to myself sometimes I smell unpleasently musky too.  It could aslo be sheer arousal because I know that the first time we both thought I was a bit to bitter I was extreamly wet and aroused.

it sounds like a drug reaction..
what you ingest matters ..food and drink..
you could try making it sweeter by eating garlic..
this works for me..(and i love a man that eats garlic..)
that said..I want to remind you that whatever your pussy
smells like ..
it should smell like "more" to your sub.
think about what changes you have made lately to your person..
when you figure this out will you let us know?

Yeast infections give a white discharge and actually have a pleasant smell so it probably is't that.  Could be a vaginal infection, in which case the DR would prescribe something that will make you more "balanced".  Really it's nothing to be freaked out about.  Obviously with that boyfriend I'd always shower and wash up before meeting, he may have a super sensitive nose;  some do.

jdtallfem, Yes,  he probably does have a sensitive nose, I am sensitive to smells to. I know he didn't say it to be mean, he's just concerned about my health, and we've talked about it and he says if it's not a infection then he'll get used to my scent, he's jst worried about my health and well being.

subjected I eat very rarely during the day.  I drink crystal light with splenda sometimes, and I don't eat much spices, we could see if he notices a difference with the bathing before hand and eating certain things

My Husband says He can smell my 'pheramones'. He knows when I am arroused, and even to some degree what part of my cycle I am in.
Alpha says She knows when I am sick by my smell. She detected a massive UTI 2 days prior to me feeling any symptoms. She kept asking me if I felt ok.
And as the others have said, what you eat affects your smell. If I drink apple juice, no joke I smell like apples. The same with coffee. As I am allergic to caffeine (and addicted to iced lattes) Alpha and Husband can ALWAYS tell when I have been naughty and snuck a beverage.

questions to always ask yourself about smell/odor
Has your diet changed dramatically?
new body soap/wash?
new laundry soap/softener/dryer sheets?
recent medication changes? both Rx and OTC
(I changed brand of iron supplements recently... not pleasent)
Change in feminine products?
change in clothing styles like cotton to satin?
Are you having to wear hose all the time?

and on and on

Alpha like to keep a VERY tidy girl. She will tolerate NO deviation from the standards and as such I have become very observant of my own space and personal enviroment.

lost I don't wear panties at home, but when I do they're 100 percent cotton, I was told ages ago by my gyn that since I am prone to female problems cotton is the way to go.

There's no changes other wise to me, he could be right though my scent could be off due to an infection, I'm not itchy or anything else but for someone who's prone to them, and then one time about a week before play with him I had a bubble bath.

Does any one think having pubic hair could change the way scent is percieved, because I know personally for me, having hair traps and holds my scents sometimes.

If my Mistress/wife eats broccalli or asparigus, the scent is horrible. sometimes it is a form of punisment for me when she is dissappointed in me. Otherwise, her scent is lovely. So consider diet and what you eat. Medication can also affect scent.

Yeast infections smell nice? Oh well, each to their own I guess! I get thrush during the summer and I find it highly unpleasant!

FP - pubic hair is there, apparently, to perform the function of trapping scent and allowing it to develop. Overall though, what most concerned me about your OP was what I implied from it, that you have issues over your scent, regardless of who says what about it? From what I understand, many women have the same insecurity about it, catered to and perpetuated by the manufacturers of panty liners et al. But the strange thing is, many (most?) guys dont seem to mind and in fact love that scent. Your partner commented that it had changed, but from what you wrote at least, didnt complain about it? Based on that, I think its more in your own head that his comment has brought those insecurities to mind, than that there is a problem. You're a woman FP, and you will smell like a woman - being a woman is a wonderful thing and everything about a woman is wonderful, including her scent, because its her. Dont be undermined by a society which says otherwise.

I agree with Lady Ellen.
I seem to remember a similar discussion you raised sometime back.
Sometimes our own insecurities, once percieved, become real.
What I mean by that is...
Many times people don't notice our (oh so apparent-we think) flaws until we point them out.
After that...well...it must BE a flaw, right?
Just be careful with your diet, stay away from spices, drink lots of water, and pineapple juice. Clean yourself 'down there' with a mild soap and water before you are together...but be sure to rinse the soap away...I destest the taste of soap!
Relax and enjoy yourself and he will too!

It can be as simple as your phase in your menses cycle, or something you ate or drank.  If you consume alot of soda, that can do it (diet dr pepper makes pussy taste nasty) and vegetables are known to do odd things to body chemistry.

LadyEllen, I've always been self contious yes. In the summer time I also get horrid yeast infections under the folds of skin and yeah it's not nice at all.Rather icky. so I know what that's like there.

I don't buy into all the feminin products, but others cruel comments at a tender age like close your legs I can smell you from here or phew you're making even the flies die have left a bit of a mark. Ironically the comments were all from other young girls my age. I think we also can be more concerned over what we or in my case feel to be an issue.

James said if it's not a problem like yeast making me a bit strong, he'd get used to how strong I am when aroused cause he loves my arousal, he's just concerned for my health, and I can't fault him for his concern.

It did some good to post here and then ultimatly to share my insecurities with him. I'll  get checked out just in case, then I'll always try to have a bath before play time so I can be comfortable and secure in being clean for him.

really? is this an across the board finding or relegated to one partner/person?

any clues what it is in the soda that is doing it? Like the sweetner? Would the smell be the same if it was diet coke and stuff?

really curious!
thanks for the brain puzzle

I haven't a clue, but I've had it told to me by someone, and then experienced it on someone else and I actually ASKED them if they'd been drinking _______, and they said, "Oh crap, how'd you know that??!?!?!"

lol...I have to agree with you dsamethyst.  I have personally had an experience with a man who had eaten raw onions.  Talk about yuck!  You are what you ingest at times regardless of gender....hehe.  Indian food is another no no.  I love it, but if I know I am going to be playing some time soon, I avoid it like the plague.

FP...
During a womans monthly cycle.. and by this, I mean throughout the whole month, various changes occur. When I once had been trying to follow the advice of a book titled "Your babys sex, now you can choose" I learned many interesting things.
From the very ending, (last day of your monthly menustration) your body begins preparing for the new egg to be released. As this process occurs, a womans secreations begin to contain trace amounts of sugar. This sugar content (or glucose) increases even more, every single day. Till the new egg is released. From there the sugar drops off to nothing again. The egg lives for a few days, and voila, another menustration to wash the old unfertilized egg from your body.

The reason I talk of this is perhaps this second sexual incounter with the new boyfriend, occured in a different part of your monthly cycle. Perhaps the first was when.... well..things were a "lil sweeter"

Personally, after I read the book, I became even more intimately in tune with my body then before. I was curious on if I could tell a difference in my own taste and scent throughout the whole month... and I could!!
Normally, day to day, the scent and taste reminds me a bit like a mild sweet tart, but after my egg is released, and those 2 or so days before starting my new monthly menestration, when my sugar content drops to nothing, it switches to tasting and smelling, for some weird reason, to wood burnt smoke.

Another point that has been made here already, but for which I wish to stress my agreement, is that your diet can VERY easily change the way a woman will smell and taste..Some bad choices have already been listed by others, but nobody mentioned onions... gawd.. onions are real bad... taste wayyy to good on my hamburger, but not in my feminine juices. The oils inside an onion that give their taste are VERY strong and concentrated, and easily carry on into urine and feminine secreations, with both smell and taste.
Perhaps you may have eaten onion a day or two before this second occassion?

I will end this by saying:
             Do go to the doctor.
( better to know that you are healthy FIRST)
Do start paying attention to your own cycle and its changes like I did!
( its fun, interesting, and will also help you learn of your own bodys health)
Do pay attention to what you eat
( there is a TON of info online of both good and bad things to eat for best scent and flavor)
Do whatever you think is best with the bathing issue, and ask partner what he thinks. Personally, I think one shower a day to be plenty. Also be careful what you DO clean up with, toss out the bubble bath, NOT good. Whatever you choose to use ( I happen to like antibacterial soaps for bathing) make SURE you use plenty of clean water to rinse all traces of soap away.
