Hi, we posted brief profiles on collarme.com, so that people that read our posts can know a little about us. We want to be as open as possible on here, but we don't want to get messages from people that we are each getting who are wanting to meet us. How can we do one without the other?

Hiya, and welcome! I'm not really that knowledgable about the technical things here, but I'm thinking if you have a profile you are going to get messages. I've posted on my profile that I am not longer seeking, and I still get messages daily from "seekers". I would suggest stating on your profile that you are not seeking, and I believe that is about all you can do. Some of those messages may just be from someone saying hi and welcome. I've met some really good people here. [:)]

I am not seeking, and that's the first thing i say when i send a message to someone. I often will tell someone that i like their profile and/or journal, and welcome to the site. I have made a few new friends that way and in most cases i get a "thank you" back.

slaveofKat,

You can't. If people refuse to read, you can't make them. I suggest you just change your settings so collarme does not notify you when you get a message.

90% will be trash and the other 10% can wait. ("Good point on the something board" is not an urgent message.)

Thanks.....it's just a little annoying when you get a message from someone who "wants to dominate and cuckold submissive couples" and is trolling for takers....guess its part of the whole ball of wax and you have to take the good with the bad, huh..[&:]

slaveofkat:

Welcome to the boards!

Interesting that you mention this as I only this morning changed my profile to read along the lines of "if you contact me looking to be dominated I will block you by default." I get a lot of that sort of thing in spite of clearly stating I'm not interested.

When you open the email message there is a button on the top that says "block this user." I use it when I open an email from someone who has not honored my wishes. It cuts down on it substantially. I've noticed that the worst offenders are repeat offenders, often waiting a few weeks and then trying again. After a few weeks of blocking people who do no honor your wishes the instances of it decline dramatically when they can't get through to you.
