Standing up for values in todays
world regardless if vanilla or
alternate is the defining feature
of moral courage. But having
values is different from living by
values-as the twenty-first century
is rapidly learning and we all must
learn to become courages in our
health and safety and its morality.
The U.S. soldiers who abused Iraqi
prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison, the
CEO of Italian food giant Parmalat
who kept quiet as financial malfeasance
proliferated with tainted food, the
Olympic athletes who succumbed to
steroids, the American president who
deceived the world about his sexual
escapades-these were not horned and
forktailed devils utterly devoid of values.
Yet in moments of moral and health
consequence they failed to act with integrity.
Why? Because they lacked the moral courage
that lifts values and saftey from the
theoretical to the practical and carries us
beyond ethical reasoning into principled action
and safety and sanity. In the defining moments
of our lives-whether as a student watching a
videotape of rape or a president facing a
nation, values count for little without the
willingness to put them into practice be it in
the vanilla society or with in Our Alternate
Lifestyle living and stand up against the majority.
Without moral courage, our brightest virtues
rust from lack of use. With it, we build piece by
piece a more ethically safe world for all both in
the vanilla world and Our Own Alternate world. JMPO

Well said, Mistress Dread. I salute you for addressing a topic that pushes the buttons of those who find it expedient to turn a blind eye to what they know to be wrong.
Respectfully,
Timothy
