I'm having trouble understanding what the lesson was, what I'm getting from it is that you're not allowed to make mistakes or be human.

I like discipline or punishment to have a point and be related to the offence.  If there is some task that is not being done correctly, and it has been properly explained and previously corrected, I might have the submissive do the task over and over until it becomes so routine that they can perform it according to my standards.  I'm a believer in body memory - do anything enough and it becomes routine.  If the error is caused by a lack of focus (on pleasing me or serving me in the manner the submissive has been trained to serve) then I feel something to assist the submissive to focus would be in order. 

I might use the type of task described here if a submissive wasted my time in some manner.  Then, something that is pointless and a waste of their time might be appropriate.

Of course these are my preferences.  The Mistress in question has the right to impose whatever forms of discipline or punishment she deems appropriate.  It also depends on the submissive - this method may be very effective for some submissives.

Yep.  Rice, buckets of army men, stick pins with his fingers, dots from a hole puncher, peas or beans, beads or coins with mittens on. 

I've also recreated a concentration camp scene from the movie Bent (Clive Owen stars) where they had to move rocks from one side of the yard to another.  A slave that served me TOLD me about the movie and how intense the scene was....and so it happened when he least expected it, when he was already exhausted, overwhelmed and in a very odd space. 

It's got educational and entertainment value for me. 

And michael -- no, not with a straw.  He'd be mopping the wet floor with a single Q-Tip or cotton ball.

This is a great technique, I like adding a blind fold to it, to make it that much harder, but maybe that's just me.

I don't know why you'd say that michael...do you think those of us who discuss our real lives are making it all up?  Not so...we live this stuff.  You say "we're all fairly safe from such things ever happening to any of us" and I say I bet most of the submissives here have endured that or worse; several many times! 

I have...that's why I'm in this lifestyle; real-time.

It only took you almost two hours, with a pair of tweezers, to pick up each grain of rice spilled from a large bag?  I would say that you must be pretty damn efficient!

Dear zzzstinky, Ladies and Gentlemen,
 
I can be that sadistic when somebody is willing to submit to it, or worse.  For fun or for making a point as far as executing a punishment, my mind is a huge field of creative imagination and reality in the making.
 
I would have had the rice picked up by tweezers back into the bag, having you count at the same time.  Then, divide them equally and measure them to make sure they were cut down the middle. 
 
Or, I could dump bird seed out and have you seperate the seeds into respective groups, then by color and give me a count of each.
 
Or....err nebbermind, I'm getting myself too excited here, as my Sadistic mind is going 100 mph.

when i didn't do the vacuuming to Master's standard He had me crawl around picking up pet hairs, as W/we have 7 housepets it was quite a long job as th hairs were tangled in the carpet threads in some cases. i now vacuum at least twice more once i have done it to the standard He expects to make sure i didn't miss anything.

Hmmm...I can not say that I have tried using quite the same technique as dumping rice out...

However when my girl (since released) had shown an "attitude" about My checking her job on washing the floors, Master allowed Me to force her to do it over on her hands and knees with a toothbrush, cloth, and absolutely no clothes. It was her luck that We had no visitors that day as the punishment would have been the same either way.
