We do not share the same religion, but we do share the same basic beliefs in morality, etc. I was raised Catholic, yet had a very liberal mom who taught me to quest for the truth in all faiths. As a result, I cannot say I am religious at all ... I look at it all more as philosophy. BUT, there are things (in my heart, in my spirit, etc) that I KNOW to be true. I could not be with someone who challenged my basic understanding and passion for people and the world. I could not be with someone who believed opposite (which is rare - most relgions are so close). If you are picking apart ceremony or tradition - step back and ask, why? Who cares ... Wouldn't the Supreme One, whoever that is to you, want compromise and peace and love and all of that good stuff?
