Not the Andrews Sisters, is it? Were they in all of those? I know they were in a couple of the Abbott and Costello films, but I don't recall if they were in all 3. And I've got no clue about Follow the Boys, because I don't remember anything about that except that that gangster guy whose name escapes me was in it.

Panda, some day I would love to see your DVD collection, and no I am not trolling you. How many movies do you actually have?

Well, if we're just talking about theatrical films, about 1500. Plus a couple hundred VHS tapes of movies I haven't been able to find on DVD yet, or that I like well enough to want to keep a copy around but not well enough to spring for a DVD. I've got a quite a nice collection of silent films, and just about a complete library of Hitchcock. If you include documentaries, PBS specials like Nova, Nature, American Experience, and American Masters, and TV anthologies like the Sopranos, Twilight Zone, Monty Python, NewsRadio, etc., 2 or 3 hundred more. You never know - someday I could have a hiking accident and wind up a paraplegic, and suddenly have a lot of time for TV watching!

OK, then. For the history buffs -

Sykes
Ewell
Sedgwick
Hill

What specific historical event brought these people together, and what specific common role did they all play in that event?

The Battle of Gettysburg. Sykes and Sedgwick were Union Generals, Hill and Ewell commanded Confederate forces.

Clsoe enough! I was looking for Corps commanders, but it would have taken a real history geek to know that. Generals at Gettysburg it is.

Panda got it...it is phase changes.  Deposition is gas to solid, sublimation is solid to gas, condensation is gas to liquid, evaporation is liquid to gas.

So that's where you live! I'm not taking it, because I've been monopolizing the thread all day. But as a guy who was fortunate enough to grow up in Wisconsin during the 60s, in the heyday of the Lombardi Packers, I just want to say I truly do feel for you.
