Hmmm...they were all friends of Picasso?

No, not necessarily. But I could have added Picasso to this list as well.

fluffy, EVERYBODY was friends with Gertrude Stein.
(Good guess, though, as was SP's)

OK, a hint. They all did (artistic) work for the same employer, ___________________ .

[I'll give more hints if asked...]

Oh. I was definitely barking up the wrong tree, then. I was thinking they were all key figures in some artistic movement. I think I need to keep guessing.

Not exactly wrong, Panda. We're in the right general place and time (though you could/should go back to that century's first two decades as well).

OK....I've already said that to the original quartet:

Igor Stravinsky
Henri Matisse
Jean Cocteau
Salvador Dali

that I could have added Pablo Picasso.

I could also have added Ida Rubenstein, Maurice Ravel, and Michel Fokine.

They all contributed their artistic talents to the same enterprise, which is.......

Yes!!!!! The Ballet Russes is correct! (Serge Diaghilev, its impresario, would have been acceptable too).

I was going next to add to add Nijinsky, Pavlova, Debussy and Benois, but those would have been giveaways, of course.

You're up, fluffypet!

Damn, She is smart! Her and that demon genius Intenze, you can't slip anything past them.

Pretty good quartet, though, MM. Very good. I wish you'd play this more often; yours always seem to be top notch.

Thank you, Panda. It's just a question of available time.

Sure, but everyone else has the same internet you have, yet you still keep reelin' 'em in one after the other. You and Intenze both; I think you guys are smarter than hell. Not just the ones you two solve, but the ones you make up as well. It's really fun playing with both of you. DCnovice, too, but  he doesn't seem to play as much these days.
