RISK.. shudder.. I have bad memories of Risk... my parents forced me to play with the family when I was like 8.. and then laughed at me when I made mistakes... scarred me for life I tell you.. for LIFE!!!!!!

Lorikeet
Crow
Macaw
Toucan

dcnovice -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/2/2007 8:22:06 PM)

Are they all members of the parrot family? Not sure about crows, though.

Not at all. It's just that those traumatic Risk memories addled your brain!

I'm pretty brain-dead myself, but here's a stab at keeping things going.

Black Narcissus
The Bells of St. Mary's
Come to the Stable
In This House of Brede

mistoferin -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/3/2007 7:53:59 AM)

Religious Films or more specifically, films about nuns.

mistoferin -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/7/2007 3:34:53 PM)

Anyone know if I was right???

Lorelei115 -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/7/2007 4:11:06 PM)

Hmm dunno.. haven't seen dc around lately...

RobertCloud -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/7/2007 5:10:05 PM)

They are not members of the Parrot family, a Crow is not a parrot. But they all can be taught to talk.

Lorelei115 -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/8/2007 3:33:23 AM)

You are right, but the answer was actually that they were all zygodactyl, except for crows. (Toucans aren't members of the parrot family either, they are "softbills" but they still have the zygodactyl toe structure.) I thought I was posting in the "odd one out" section instead of the "what do these things have in common" section. Which is why I called myself a dumbass. *grin*

RobertCloud -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/8/2007 7:57:38 AM)

What do these things have in common?
A lecturer
A serenade
A minuet
A symphony

An audience?

RobertCloud -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/8/2007 9:36:02 PM)

Good Guess, but a symphony can be played without an audience, so can any of the musical pieces.

dcnovice -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/10/2007 9:12:15 PM)

Latest quartet, courtesy of RobertCloud:

What do these things have in common?
A lecturer
A serenade
A minuet
A symphony

dcnovice -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/10/2007 9:13:20 PM)

Lame guess: They're all things you hear?

RobertCloud -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/11/2007 8:27:46 AM)

Well, again, not necessarily. A minuet can be on a piece of paper and not be being played yet.

dcnovice -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/11/2007 6:34:54 PM)

I think we need a hint at this point.

zammer007 -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/11/2007 7:11:12 PM)

Could they be all things DONE by Mozart ?

zammer007 -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/11/2007 7:14:10 PM)

I'm really not a newbie ...I am just back. :)

RobertCloud -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/11/2007 8:07:34 PM)

think of things written, all of them have something in common concerning writing...
