Latest Quartet:

George Washington

All depicted on Mount Rushmore Memorial.
All depicted on currency
All had ships named after them

That's all I have...

Where is the new group of 4?

My original intent was that they're the only four Presidents with full-fledged memorials here in D.C. They're also all depicted on coins. And they all were elected at least twice. I didn't know about the ships--cool!

Nit-picker that I am, I can't help pointed out that FDR is not on Mt. Rushmore. That's Theodore Roosevelt.

Your turn to post, Ms. Jo.

dcnovice -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (11/30/2007 9:28:33 PM)

We seem to need a quartet, so I'm gonna pinch-hit. I'm pretty sure Ms. Jo won't mind.

New Quartet:

Miep Gies
Corrie ten Boom
Dervis Korkut
Jan Karski

Aylee -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (11/30/2007 9:36:35 PM)

Persons that helped Jews during WW2

dcnovice -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (11/30/2007 9:48:56 PM)

Yep. Your turn to post.

Aylee -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (11/30/2007 9:56:31 PM)

Griselda
Lady Nijo
Pope Joan
Dull Gret

dcnovice -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (11/30/2007 10:09:40 PM)

Characters in Caryl Churchill's 1982 play, Top Girls.

dcnovice -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (11/30/2007 10:35:15 PM)

I'm pretty confident about the last quartet, so I'm gonna take the plunge and post a new one.

New Quartet:

Break with a Banshee
Gadding with Ghouls
Holidays with Hags
Year with the Yeti

Actually I started using Teddy rather than Franklin in my research half way through...so I was completely wrong.

dcnovice -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (12/1/2007 12:35:44 PM)

Well, you and Aylee were both right about the Hogwarts books, so one of you can post a new quartet.

Aylee -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (12/1/2007 9:05:22 PM)

New quartet:

Jimmy Stewart
Kirk Douglas
Gene Autry
Gregory Peck

texancutie2 -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (12/1/2007 9:10:33 PM)

Their stars were stolen off the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Aylee -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (12/1/2007 9:12:56 PM)

Well, dayum, I thought that one would take longer than 10 minutes.

Good Job.

So what is the new quartet?

dcnovice -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (12/1/2007 9:16:24 PM)

Texancutie, it's your turn to post a quartet.

dcnovice -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (12/3/2007 2:27:11 PM)

We seem to be quartet-less, so I'll fill in.

New Quartet:

Pietro Gasparri
Eugenio Pacelli
Domenico Tardini
Jean-Marie Villot

What job did these clerics have in common? And which is the odd one out? (There are actually two odd ones out, depending on how you look at it.)

RazorJAK -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (12/3/2007 2:54:04 PM)

They were all Cardinals.

Eugenio Pacelli is the odd one out as he's the only one of the three to become Pope.
Jean-Marie Villot is the odd one out as is the only non-italian on your list.
