Status: offline 		Does anyone know of any reason it would be a bad idea to a wear butt plug all night? I'm trying to get things "relaxed" back there for when my dominant moves in and will be making use of it on a regular basis. Thank you!

Status: offline 		I don't know really.  I dont know if its neccessary.  Ive experienced anal sex a number of times and never really needed to use a plug or leave a plug in for any length of time.  I think using it right before anal sex will definately loosen it up more comfortabley and gradually than ....say...a huge cock right off the top of the bat.  But to leave a plug in overnight for the purpose of "loosening it up" isnt really necessary....not in my experiences anyway.

Edited to add....lots of lube and slow patient insertion works if you dont want to use the plug method.....and...this is kind of embarassing, but even a finger inserted first, before the cock, can sorta loosen it up a little bit.

We have tried anal sex mutiple times with varying sucess. It mostly hurts me too much for me be a good girl and simply take it so I have to break scene and ask him to pull out. It's very frustrating for me because I feel like I'm failing and because there is always a hint of something very pleasurable about it.

We always use a lot of lube but in our experience (I do a lot of martial arts so I think that might have something to do with my rear ends tightness since it gets clentched a lot) is that I need to be working on it with plugs or my fingers nearly every day.

Sounds like the plug idea would work then.  Maybe try using sizes that graduate.  I dont know anything about the safe length of time they can remain inside.  Im sure someone will come along who is a plugologist very soon though who might have some good suggestions, or you might want to do a quick search on plug threads. lol.  Hey, you never know. you might come up with something.  :)  Good luck.

I personally would think it likely has more to do with someone anticipating pain or anxiety related to the act itself, and not being able to relax the internal muscles accordingly.

As for stretching, using a plug for extended periods of time can help, but leaving a plug in overnight presents one problem which springs to mind straight away: the lube will dry up over an extended period of time. Removing a dry plug can be quite painful, and can also cause tears in the lining of the anus. As with all things, while one may like to jump right to the end result, I would suggest to start gradually - smaller plugs, well-lubricated, for shorter periods of time. Gradually increase your size of plug and time worn - *always* lubricating and re-lubricating as necessary.  Perhaps wearing the plug while you play and enjoy other sexual activities would be a more comfortable progression to help you relax and warm up to the idea of anal being a positive and mutually enjoyable act?

I could only see wearing a plug overnight once one becomes accustomed to plugs and comfortable with extended periods. Even then, wearing a plug harness is likely a good idea to make sure the plug doesn't dislodge or move about while you are sleeping, and the lack of ongoing lubrication would still be an issue, IMO.

It may well be a mental thing. I guess the only way to find out is for us to keep trying and for me to keep working at it.

Thank you for pointing out about the lube and it drying up. I'll just have to keep them in during the day when I can be aware of what is happening.

yep you can get the tissues iritated and then it will be even more uncomfrtable..and well somewhere downt he line you could end up having a problem holding things in but casusing a constant state of anal dilitation!  wouldnt want a dilate hole back there!

I have heard folks comment elsewhere that prolonged and regular use of plugs can lead to problems in later life as the muscles are stretched and unable to hold properly, however this needs much further research before treated as fact imho.

I have been working on it myself and the most helpful thing I have found is to use a slender but serious vibrator in there.  talk about your muscle relaxin'. 
I usually have to holler safeword myself, unless there is LOTS of booty foreplay.

I would think that sleeping in a plug could increase your risk of infection.  I also think it would give you really weird dreams.

Status: offline 		i once enjoyed a thread in another forum about "most embarassing moments in BDSM", and more than half of them involved butt plugs abandoning ship at inopportune moments. i wouldn't expect one to stay in place all night without a harness.

IMO, you'll get equal or better results from wearing a plug frequently while awake. Even if you insert it a couple times a week, and wear it for an hour or so around the house, you'll be getting your body accustomed to relaxing and accepting the penetration- i think that tends to be the real source of difficulty.

Also, not to get too personal, but if you practice/are allowed to practice) self-pleasure, i would suggest making anal insertion a regular part of that, to eroticize it and associate it with relaxation and climax.

I've no idea of the health risks associated with it.  Though I do have my own experiences.  When first with Doug he was big into anal.
I generally wore a plug about 12 hours a day straight for...I want to say about 2 month's.  Lots of lube and going slow are what helps you but it also helps to stretch things out a bit.  At least if you use a plug to get used to the feeling you are less likely to rip and cause hemmoroids in the long run.

So, health affects aside.  It worked for me.  By the way...the lube never dried out when I wore one.
For lube to dry it needs air.
