I'm jealous I didn't get the invitation to Egypt, that would make my day.  I did however get the one from the guy who had been subjected to CBT and had all kinds of device designs he wanted to share with me.  Those were a little creepy.

I agree that it can go both ways. I expect we see more examples of WTF emails coming from men just because of the sheer numbers and a couple of other factors.

I got one suggesting cuckoldry also! I wonder if it was from the same person. .

It could well have been the same woman Sea, especially if her name implied as much as what she was seeking. [;)]

Sure, a letter with more substance would convey more. But I am fine with a one-liner commenting on an interesting profile if there is enough information in the sender's profile to gauge basis of interest and compatibility. In the latter case, I see it as an invitation to a conversation. I can then respond with a note of thanks or with a conversation.

I totally agree.  And these have at times started conversations if an adequate profile indeed existed.  My only point being that women here complain of receiving one liners and expect far more of men.  It just seems to me, that the kind of Dominant woman I'd hope to meet would be capable of telling me what she honestly finds appealing about me or would start a conversation about something we have in common between us. Also, I have sometimes emailed a compliment (versus an introductory email) to someone, especially when compatibility is uncertain for one reason or another, without specific expectations of a conversation or response. I have sometimes received similar compliments.

Cheers,

Sea

Ditto here.  I've sent compliments when I felt they were merited and they were sent with nothing else in mind.  I have also received such compliments and have made several new friends as a result. [:)]  Will anything more ever result?  Only time will tell... [;)]

MstrssPassion -> RE: Ya don't say! (12/3/2006 8:04:39 AM)

Take into account that the women who have spoken out about their discontent of receiving one-line emails generally have a very descriptive profiles that clearly spell out many points of interest & areas of compatibility. Many (myself included) have specifically spelled out that one line emails will be discarded or ignored. I do this because one line emails give me (the recipient) nothing to build upon & no way to find compatibilities or a way to determine what they found interesting about me. Here is a construct of a commonly sent one liner...

"You have beautiful eyes (Goddess, Mistress, Ma'am, insert preferred term here) ... I'd like to know more about you."

Well my god, if it hadn't of been for this one line email I would have never known that my eyes were attractive... [sm=rolleyes.gif] What this one line email tells me is that someone saw my pic & completely skipped reading all the information about me already provided. This doesn't really support the second statement about wanting to know more about me.

If a person is truly interested in finding compatibility with another why would they completely ignore the written word of the one they are about to post a comment to?

I have come to a point that I can tell so much about those who contact me simply by their initial contact. I've placed markers within my profile that will reveal to me just how closely readers pay attention to what I have to say. Through trial & error I have been able to pretty much conclude what the true intent is of those who contact me after reading my profile. I also know that if people cannot follow through with simple requests asked in a polite manner then they most likely will never be capable following through with complex instructions.

I completely understand what you're saying and don't at all disagree.  I've had similar experiences on other sites, particularly those that were non-lifestyle specific.

I particularly dislike it when someone tells me they "found my profile interesting" without telling what it was in my profile they found "interesting" as it tells me absolutely nothing about where they are coming from or what their potential attraction is. [sm=rolleyes.gif]

As you're a Dominant, it would seem to me, that logic would dictate there are additional criteria you are looking for in a partner (such as a sub's ability to follow your directions) that go beyond what I would be looking for.  I have observed the markers you speak of in numerous profiles of women who advertise here.  But then, I'm not here to find just any Dominant, I seek one who is mutually compatible with me and always read their profiles, plus their journals as well.  I have no desire to waste their time or mine.  For some reason, I've met women on other sites (like Alt) who think my time is of no value or importance. [image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m23.gif[/image]

Personally, I look for outside interests in a profile which I share in common with a woman that I can comment on or ask questions about which we share in common, to discover just how close our level of interest or experience, which I'd hope would help to strike up a conversation.  This is the approach I'd personally prefer a woman use with me as well. <email deleted>

[Mod Note:  please don't paste emails into the forums.  You can post a brief excerpt but not the whole thing]

Dragonskiss72 -> RE: Ya don't say! (12/5/2006 11:55:45 AM)

CalliopePurple -> RE: Ya don't say! (12/5/2006 10:56:35 PM)

Should I consider myself lucky I've never received any of those form idiots?

pinkkeith -> RE: Ya don't say! (12/7/2006 7:05:41 AM)

I got my first message from someone on the other side. Whoo hoo! It was from a guy that thought I was a girl. [&:] I guess he never bothered reading anything that I wrote at all. Hopefully my picture will be up there soon, so that those who don't like to read can just look and see who I am. I put my picture up on Saturday, but it is still not up there yet. How long is that suppose to take, it says 72 hours, isn't that three days? [8D]

mnottertail -> RE: Ya don't say! (12/7/2006 7:08:48 AM)

that's an average, with the influx of people at this time of year (new years resolutions to get on with kink and so forth) and the reviewers getting ready for the holidays themselves it can take longer.  If it meets rules, it will get done sooner or later.

Ron

MstrssPassion -> RE: Ya don't say! (12/7/2006 9:35:51 AM)

Yup... that time of year again.

A whole new slew of HNG's, trolls & wanks signing on with the new pc's Santa brought them.

Y'all ready for 'em?

Geeeez...I swear I can hear the faint background noise of "...but wait!!!! If you order before midnight tonight, we'll DOUBLE your order...that's right I said DOUBLE your order....call now, operators are standing by...

RayvenGoddess -> RE: Ya don't say! (12/7/2006 10:40:15 AM)

I no longer have the whole version of this email I got on here, but I swear to whatever god you want that someone sent this to me (I believe he was in Germany) word for word.  I only have this still because I cut and pasted this section into a blog I wrote last year about this email.  Here is the direct copy and paste from that email:

. . . you are the most sexy piranha in this wild Amazon river:-)). Whenever I watch your pix..I am as the swimmer in this brasilian river...I want to get on the second shore...but I now I cant prove it...Because...you are here with your nipping teeth....YOU ARE SO TOOTHSOME!!:-)

RayvenGoddess -> RE: Ya don't say! (12/7/2006 10:42:40 AM)

oh and I too got that same email that was an invite to go to Egypt.  I've gotten a few for Saudi Arabia, India, and Thailand as well.

sugarcoatedscamp -> RE: Ya don't say! (12/7/2006 2:18:17 PM)

I usually ask "no limits" slaves to prove it like Picasso did.

sugarcoatedscamp -> RE: Ya don't say! (12/7/2006 2:27:21 PM)

*raises hand*

I got the one from the CBT dom, too!

I also got one from a latina femsub with a tickle fetish...  Wanted to be tied down and tickled until she pissed herself.  When asked what she would do if she was alone with my son and he had a tantrum, she suggested that she would tickle him...  CREEPY.

iheartgagballs -> RE: Ya don't say! (12/7/2006 2:41:34 PM)

"Mistress I seek to become a toilet slave , to eat of the food you pass is the only way for a slave to live, to live from the fluid you pass is the only way for a slave to drink please I live in kitchener I will move, I also will become your garabage if need be and can preform diaper duties"

Now when you consider that "diapers" are clearly listed under my hard limits, this sort of email is a little disturbing to read after just waking up at 9 am to check my messages before going to work. [:'(]

I have respect for any and all kinks, but do some of these people even READ the profiles before sending a message? Or do they just jump to messaging after seeing a pretty profile picture?

LadyEllen -> RE: Ya don't say! (12/7/2006 3:36:42 PM)

Has no one had any misogynistic religious nuts onto them?

I'd have thought that would be a prime source of oddity.

E

PS - Benji! Dont you dare LOL!

How did Picasso prove he was a no-limits slave?  He always struck me as more of a dom.

Or are you referring to Van Gogh?
