labsintheriver -> What clothes should a switch wear to impress the ladies? (12/14/2006 3:15:03 PM)

I'm a switch who has never been to a fetish club before but plan to do so soon. I have lots of opinions on what a female should wear to please me, but not the slightest idea what the range of options are for the wardrobe of  a switch looking to impress the ladies. Any tips?

Clean pants in good repair, a big-boy shirt (preferably with buttons, though a sweater is nice too) and boots or shoes; NOT tennis shoes.  Don't forget to tie them, if the shoes have laces!

It's lucky you reminded me. Most of mine have holes in and have lost their colour!

Whatever it is, just make sure it is clean and neat and you are too. :) Thats the best impression anyone can make.

What do you like to wear for fetish? I mean most fetish clubs have a dress code so decide what appeals to you within those constraints.

The guy I went to one with wore a black Tshirt, black jeans, a leather vest, and black leather combat boots. He smelled nice too. He was well kept.

I dunno but the rough and tough guys appeal to me, so long as they have a gentle soul and a little darkness and a desire for playfulness and sensuality then I'm okay with them.

Me, I was in a green velour body suit, PVC pants, and leather riding boots. It felt completely natural for me so I went with it. I got a few giggles from the normals on my way to the club but otherwise it was no problem. My attire was kind of ambiguous. Some couldn't really tell if I was a Domme or sub but that's okay since I can go either way.

Personally I didn't understand why people would think the way I dressed was one way or the other. The only thing I can think of is a lot of the bio girls were dressed in more hyper femminine attire. Some were just in their undies though. To me my fetish was what I was wearing, so being in a state of undress would actually be less exciting.

LOL, I was not being facetious...you'd be surprised the number of men who show up for first dates in stained t-shirts, unkempt jeans and sloppy tennis shoes.  Both Doms and subs!

If you were asking what to wear at a dungeon...I'd wear street cloths to the club, and change there; if it's fetish wear you enjoy (or cross-dressing).  Actually, many subs just go naked, though I rather like a boy in a leather thong...

Digit has the right idea, too

Black goes well with anything.  Leather boots, too, with heels.  Try a Poet's shirt and leave it 1/2 open for a more androgenous look.  By all means, comb your hair and be well groomed.  Brush your teeth.

But above all, focus on your body language.  You wear that everywhere and it tells the most about you.

This is exactly why I don't do clubs, and avoid the scene like the pock marked hell it is - no shirt, no shoes? No service.

What the hell man.. I wouldn't set foot in a club, pub, bar, restaurant, or crackden that demanded I dress a certain way to enter, or required I make myself uncomfortable to 'keep the riffraff out' (hire a half decent fucking bouncer you cheap-skate fuckers), or provide other people with amusement.

Sod 'em all. Wear beat up jeans, a baggy t-shirt, and skate shoes. :)

No kidding. I had a sub once show up for a first meeting straight from the gym, UN-SHOWERED, in baggy sweatpants, a stained hooters t-shirt that was too small (showing his dun-lap) and shoes with holes in them.
The homeless guy walking by the coffee shop was more presentable.

Heh, there was this event here in Toronto called Vazaline. It was a pretty neat monthly party for queer people who weren't into the gay circuit clubs and wanted something that was darker and edgier without the issues of having harrassment from straight folk who didn't want them in their clubs. A lot of people just showed up in their T's and jeans and tried to look as grubby as possible. One guy was a naturist and was in the buff, and there were plenty of men and women in all sorts of sexy or fetishy attire.

I liked the atmosphere there because it was about no rules. You just were who you were and we were all there to just drown ourselves in the music, dance, and maybe meet someone. One guy had the balls or maybe enough intoxication to feel up one of my nipples as I walked by. I knew the venue could bring this out in people so just said thank you and kept walking. If someone did that at a fetish night it would be so not okay.

It's sort of art punk if I had to give it a simple description. I loved the playfulness and the chaotic energy of that club. Too bad it closed down.

The funniest part was when this slightly intoxicated university student was hitting on me in the coat check line and I don't think he realized that I was trans. The gay couple behind me were killing themselves laughing since they had already figured me out. [:D] The guy was so straight laced that I don't think he would have been able to deal with anything I'm into. He was there for another club on a different floor where the music and activity was more main stream.

I still prefer the punk and goth clubs to the fetish nights for pure entertainment value. The fetish nights are great for learning and experiencing more about different things related to BDSM.

The thing with the dress code is that it doesn't have to be leather, rubber, or PVC. You can wear a tux and they'll let you in. They just don't want walk-in's from bar hoppers looking to galk and possibly make trouble. It's creating a safe space in a lot of ways. Actually the fet night I went to allows punk and goth looks too.

Having worked as a bouncer, you might expect me to extoll the virtues of dress codes.

Don't hold your breath. I worked in an "upscale" club that required tucked in shirts, no sneakers, etcetera. I also worked in places where the whole "No shirt, no service" saying was a suggestion. The people were, as I've found most places, wonderful for the most part. There was trouble, but it seemed to be about the same level both places. The major difference was in one place it was dealing with assholes... in the other, it was dealing with assholes in nice clothes.

There's not a lot of difference between the two.

Throughout college. Nights, good pay, and connections to all the good parties.

wear something that's not vanilla! i shake my head in dismay at bdsm clubs when i see "normal" looking folk. perhaps a fishnet shirt, pvc pants and boots or something like that. rawr!

FelinePersuasion -> RE: What clothes should a switch wear to impress the ladies? (12/15/2006 10:22:31 PM)

oh please, fet wear isn't going to be the end all to attracting a person or impressing me. or other women. I am more interested if they're clean, the clothing is clean they took care in personal hygien, did they brush teeth, is their cologn if they wear it offensive or over powering. Are they interesting, are they able to show themself as the intelligent human they are.

Love it, my very own Ken.
ok, lets see,
do you have any rubber?
if you do, then you must of course wear this.
if you dont,
have you any idea how good purple looks? maybe a watch strap?
how you smell will be important too

I like the look of confidence. If you have that, then you could be in rags to some extent.
good luck,
littleone
