All microbondage compression toys (clamps, clothespins, clips, forceps, hemostats) basically work the same way. When a compression toy is applied we first feel the pinch when the nerves start sending signals. After a short time the nerve has been deprived of blood and stops sending the signal cause it is out of energy. The victim/ bottom doesn’t just get used to the pain. In actuality the pain signals stop getting through because the circuit is broken. What sensation is left being felt is because the surrounding nerves that still work send some signals, just not nearly at the level that were being sent before bondage. Any ischemia (Restriction in blood supply) exerted against the skin may impair the microcirculation, the lymphatic circulation, and the interstitial transport processes, thereby leading to skin breakdown and tissue damage. Damage can also occur with Reperfusion, when the blood supply returns to the tissue after a period of ischemia. When playing with clothespins and other microbondage compression toys don’t forget about other medical concerns: Mastitis, Fibrocystic Breasts, Menstrual Cycle, Mammary Duct Ectasia, Piercings And Wounds, Hernias and Cysts, Breast and Scrotum Hematomas etc. Much research has been done on perfusion and reperfusion including time issues but are more medical related and none relating directly to clothespins. OK…I have a BIG clothespins fetish so we have done a lot of research!
