I went into the Army after high school, then went to college on the G.I. Bill.  A.A. in history from a community college, then  B.A. in history, concentration in middle eastern history,  from University of California.  Also alumni of American University in Cairo.

I loved college.  Some day would like to go back and get BA in Arabic Language and Literature, and a BA in Art History. Maybe an MA in education and/or teaching credentials.

Like that is so going to happen <sigh>

Three years of undergrad for music education, but quit when I discovered I hated teaching.  Went back later on and have an Associate Deg. in Medical Lab Technology, and countless continuing ed courses.  I've assisted in autopsies and helped procure bones from cadavers for a tissue bank.

Also certified by the American Tarot Association to read Tarot Cards :)

I dropped out of high school midway through the eleventh grade, when I found out I was going to fail and have to repeat the entire year. I then spent a weekend cramming for my GED. I wish I hadn't been such a fool in school, but like Nietzsche said, "wish in one hand, shit in the other, see which fills up the quickest".

Well, I managed to graduminate from third grade before I dropped out to become to fulfill my ultimate destiny of becoming a baby-popping housewife.

Seriously, though, I studied history and anthropology as an honors student at Purdue University, and, after repeated attempts to pass my core Algebra, spanning two years, I was politely asked not to come back the next semester.  Now I'm a baby-popping housewife.  I like it this way a lot better.

No one can blame you if your popping out lil ones as cute as yourself...  I think being a mom is the most wonderful thing a woman is capable of, and perhaps it's romantic of me to think this way, but I consider it close to amazing.

To the OP, I have a Bachelor of Sciences, though not telling what I do on the forums...  Upon initial entry into the university, I found my high school had let me down, by not adequately preparing me, but by mid-end of my college years, I was in such a good rhythm in terms of learning and getting good grades, that I now regret not staying for my Master's.   I don't need my master's now, but think I will in my late years go for some business/administration classes.  M

In the course of my life i obtained three undergraduate degrees: In the 70's, i graduated in Business Management.....that degree and one dollar garnared me the honor of being an "Administrative Aid" who answered phones and made coffee. i went back and took the necessary additional courses to get a degree in accounting. i worked for a huge mortgage lending firm, sitting at  a desk each day entering numbers on a computer for about 9 dollars an hour. My children, high maintenance beings that they are, continued to need things like clothes, shoes, foods, and school tuition....so off i went, back to school again and obtained a degree that led to my RN licensure.  That one did well financially for me and my progeny, but i still have not obtained my educational goal...i do so want to be a nail tech, dipping those radioactive chemicals into that little crystal pot and smearing them across a bevy of nails, all the while rapidly speaking in Vietnamese to my coworkers. *sigh* i am doing well in nail laquering, but steadily flunking Vietnamese.

Generally didn't attend high school, decided against university, went to Switzerland for Hotel Management.
Generally didn't attend Hotel Management School (Okay, we had to, but I was the only slacker at the school.  Succeeded in corrupting my roomie, who proceeded to fail the course.  Tee hee)
Took all formal education with a crate of salt, still do.

Yours,

I went to a state college a long time ago. One of those hippie freely structured type things. Learned alot, but didn't graduate. Later went to a big state university...a good one...to study anthropology/archaeology. Also didn't graduate. I think I need one more year to get a B.A. In between, I went to a very hard core electronics trade school and learned lots of great theory and everything you'd ever want to know about vacuum tube technology...just minutes before the whole world switched over to completely solid-state devices. I am the last person on Earth instructed in the use of a sliderule...again, just days before the widespread appearance of the affordable pocket calculator. Lately have been working my way through several levels of EMT training. I am an EMT-B now, and will be going for EMT-I soon...I think.

I'm an archaeologist for bucks, and serve a volunteer fire department as EMS captain and general firefighting goon. Most importantly, I am the guy who takes care of kitties Otis and Daisy, and the lover of  the beautiful sylphette. I'm a so-so drummer and a fairly good singer.

After having finished high school,  i attended CEGEP and got a diploma in litterature (CEGEP could be an extension of high school...but not really, that kind of school only exists here.)
Published a collection (recueil?) of poetry that actually didnt work...but oh well, i tried huh? ;)
I'm actually doing a Baccalaureat in french litterature at my U.D.M university. Got two years left and after that...maybe going back to CEGEP and making a DEP in horseback riding. I'll see about that.

One B.A. in English from UC Berkeley plus one J.D. equals one totally boss student loan debt.

Seriously, I'll never pay it off.  Which kind of bums me out since I'll never be able to afford to go back to school.

First...what is 'Yor'??? yang to Gor perhaps.
Dropped out of Pacific Northwest College of Art before the first term was over; Portland State University Honors College, Philosophy Major, concentration in "Continental European Philosophy-20th Century", dropped out my junior year, Clackamas Community College, rediscovered art, decided I didn't want to teach, dropped out to help support my (ex)wife in getting her first nursing degree and RN...focusing on paying the bills and putting my first portfolio together.

i went away to school as a Broadcast Journalism major and ended up having to come home because my mother was sick.

i went back to school for my associates in Early Childhood Ed

My most recent certification is as a Massage Therapist (kink friendly of course)

i am training to be an infant massage instructor and would love to be a Doula (labor coach) all the action of labor without med school

i am starting my own practice and love pre natal massage and infant massage instruction.

Fact is...i will always be in school. Once you get past all the junk they make you learn and get to what you enjoy it is rewarding.

I did one miserable year at a small, women's college before taking some time off to bounce around Italy by myself.  Aimlessly bouncing wasn't quite for me, so I enrolled in some art history and Italian history classes in Florence.  Then, eventually came back home and got my B.A. in English Literature from New York University, and minored in history and anthropology.  I'm very slowly working on a Master's in Publishing, but it's not at all structured and I'm not very motivated to finish it.

Hated school, so I graduated high school while a Jr.

Worked in a factory for a couple of years, figured out it was worse than school.

Got a BA in Sociology.

Self-taught German, rated fully fluent at one time.

Later, got a MA in International Political Affairs.

Lots of other off-the-wall training and stuff, but nothing I'd care to share in an open forum.

Formal education  have never had much apparent direct correlation with my careers..

FHy

oh, yeah.  I'm an Autodidact too, in lots of stuff.  Even when I attended schools

Just f*ing ignore me.  I didn't realize this was an old thread, so I posted twice.  The second answer was more accurate anyway.

Was an honors student in high school, went on to study pre-law at the University of Arizona, dropped out and bummed around for about four years, went back to community college and was one mind-numbingly boring filing class short of an AA degree as a Paralegal when the money ran out and I had to go back to work.  All that law got me nowhere, but the one accounting class I took made me a payroll and benefit accountant.  Go figure.  Been doin' it nearly 25 years.

Have a B.A. in psychology, with some graduate level work as well.  Later went on to obtain a degree in nursing, and have been working in that field for quite some time.
