I know of a few but I'd like other people's idea's. What are ways animals, like dogs, for instance, use to show subservience, submission, or to show they know they're lower on the totum pole, that can be used in human animal role play?

One way to behave like an animal, I want to do particularly, is greet Master once he's home in an animalistic fashion, Since I am a cat I'd wind aboutr his ankles purr rub my face against hisl egs knead,  if I was being a doggie I'd wait till he sat down and beg like a shameless puppy for him to speak to me.

Cats and dogs both show their bellies in signs of submission.

For cats specifically- lowering your ears back, bowing your head down, putting your tail down and backing away without turning away is always good.  If you're a female in heat, go down on all fours and raise and shake your backside with your tail up.

To show dominance, hold them by the scruff of their neck, gently but firmly press between their eyes, stare at them (though this is very aggressive and will likely cause trouble), or turn your back on them.

Cats rub to mark their territory, so that's actually a more dominant display, as well as spraying.

Ahh, La. Yes rubbing is used to mark, I forgot that, because for me it's just the utter bliss and joy of touching him,and one of the ways I show affection:)

One way to experience the way an animal expresses itsself, is to think about the difference between your anatomy and a canine (or other) and only use what they have available.  For example, don't hug a leg because a dog can't really do that very well except to press the sides of their legs against a leg.  Full wrapping arms, they can't do.  So pretend you don't have your arms, or your chest to hold someone near and use your "paws" to place on someone, and your head.  When a dog comes up, they put their chin on your leg and might offer up a paw.  Don't extend your arm far when you do this, since of course a dog doesn't.  Watch dogs for inspiration.  They are generally very submissive to humans.

ak, yes my cocker spaniel is very good at looking at me w/ith those sweet eyes of his.  And he does put his head to my thigh or the couch if I am sitting. Sparky will also randomly lick parts he can get to like your ankle or your knee,  he walks up to you and for no aparent reason licks your knee . sometimes your hands if you hold them to him and they smell like food.

If I am on the floor he comes to me and flops into my lap and imitates a very heavy and alive throw rug with the way he goes still ontop of my lap.

I have all these animalistic instincts driving me batty an no one to do them for now lol.

Well its  a bit hard as animals attack each other to show who is the dominant partner. Even if it is both the same sex. For eg my cats. One is the master and when he wants to show it he will attack the other cat and the other cat will run away. Otherwise when their both being friendly they both act normal.
