As a dom, there are many profiles of subs that if not actually scare me, but give me cause for concern. The "older" ones that you describe concern me as well. The younger ones are usually fakes (in the literal sense) and don't stay on long. It's usually a joke, or someone is being forced to put up a profile as such. I have been approached, on occasion, by the young ones you describe, then when I respond to their messages (usually waiting a day or two because I know the m.o.) they are already gone.
As far as the OP - I've not seen anyone truly "scary," but have had my share of "no thank yous" come along.
