I'm with TopCat on this one -- I love to entertain and for that, I prefer taking charge in the kitchen. There's no rules in there and I haven't yet caused any meat or vegetable to safeword on me. Occasionally, if it's to be a big gathering, I will enlist the help of a sub or two to do simple things like prepping platters of fruit and cheese and maybe salads, but mostly I find it's quicker and easier to do these things ahead of time myself. If it's a formal/sit-down dinner I'll do main meals that can look after themselves in the oven so there's just a minimal amount of time checking and if it's an informal/BBQ or similar, guests usually will be invited to cook their own steaks or whatever.

As for vacuuming, my mottos is "if it's on the floor, it disappears!"

I do cook, but not every night. I cook meals probably two to three times a week. I especially love my crockpot. That takes a lot of the actual work away from me.

Just erading your post, no other's just don't have the time nor desire to do so.

I cook two complete dinner's every evening. For two houses. Yes, at times I am guilty. I may make spaghetti sauce out of a bottle. Yet, they can all tell when I take the time to make it by hand versus out of the bottle.
So, usually I make dinner by scratch but when time does not allow for me to. The box does come in handy.

My home seems to be the place to go to eat and socialize for my friends, so i end up socializing and entertaining a lot. The prep work is exhausting but i am very lucky that most of my friend shave been here so much they all know where everything is and can help after they get there, or pitch in when the get there.

Yes and as far as a Dom doing kitchen duty, at one of my events i was very pleasantly surpised when a Dom friend offered to do the dishes, I was SHOCKED and speachless! But very pleasantly surprised, it made me realize how comfortable he was in his masculinity and dominance to do this. Beside i needed to sit down lol, and for that i was grateful.

But of course being the busy bee i couldnt sit still for long. I had to ask to get up to clean the other room too, but it was still a memorable and enlightening moment for me.

I don't even really think about it. When Lawrence was here briefly last weekend I made fresh hummus and pita chips while we talked, without even thinking about it. He wasn't going to be there for long, but he was there and that means you offer refreshments.

Eating out is often difficult for me because I'm a vegetarian, so it's a good thing that I like to cook and I'm pretty damned good at it.
