madnessinc, What you should learn about this activity is the same as any activity, make sure the equipment is strong enough for the purpose intended, and make sure all parties involved know each other well enough to trust each other. Their is not much physical risk involved, but psychological damage should be considered contingent upon the duration and other aspects of the scene. When we attended the Folsom Fringe last year we saw a naked slave kept in a dog crate type cage all night. she was auctioned off to the highest bidder and during the night anyone in the crowd of 500 or so could come by and poke & prod her, or feed her from their fingers. It was very erotic to witness. On the practical side... My beth has confessed the desire to be caged for extended periods. Last week while shopping for new toys at "Dom Depot" we think we've stumbled on an idea that may be practical. We saw 2 foot high prefab decorative railing. Our thought is to use it to make a cage which would also serve as a platform for our bed. It takes the space issue out of the equation, and is very functional. By extending the bed skirt it would give the appearance of just having a VERY tall bed. Sketching out the practical details, but it seems the only 'problem' is the matter of the entry gate. At two feet the good people of Dom Depot thought gating wouldn't be required. If they only knew how many lifestyle people shop there they may start generating special circulars!
