SouthEast LeatherFest Raises The Bar In 2007!

SouthEast LeatherFest (SELF), now in its 12th year, is offering fresh, new twists, so join us on June 8-10, 2007 in Atlanta for a weekend of fun.

For the first year ever, we’re going to have on site play parties on both Friday and Saturday nights, so come shake it up and rattle some cages in our magnificent new dungeon.

We’re presenting 40 classes this year, almost double the number offered in 2006. You’ll see nationally known presenters who haven’t visited Atlanta previously, as well as some of your M/s favorites. We’re also highlighting the voices of the next generation of M/s and D/s in 2007. Their skill, expertise and unique perspective is going to blow you away, so don’t miss them!

In addition, we’re instituting a new program this year: SELF Mini Grants. SELF has supported our national communities/charities for years, and they in turn have supported SELF generously. This year, we want to recognize the strong Southeast communities that have been our backbone. Find out how your group, club or organization may apply for a SELF Mini Grant today. The first presentation of this new program will be held during the Saturday evening festivities

i wish activities like this would happen in Columbus GA. not everyone can travel to Atlanta all the time.

Events such as this don't just 'appear' because of wishes and dreams...they happen because people produce them.

You could produce your own event in Columbus if you are that set on not hopping a bus or getting a ride for the SELF weekend.

There is a SELF Yahoo group you could join and inquire about ride share.

I have been to the SELF conference for 3 years, and enjoyed it greatly each time. We travel from Pensacola for the weekend. The discussions and demos were valuable to someone who does not get a chance to see experienced people in action locally. I unfortunately had to miss it this past year, due to emergency surgery that cropped up the day we were supposed to live. (NOT a fair trade off, in my opinion. *L*) Hopefully I will make it this year.

Have you joined the Yahoo Group Elegant mentioned yet? You can't wait until the last minute to arrange a ride. Then again, there's always Greyhound, with several daily trips between Columbus and Atlanta for under $40 round trip.

It's a glaring shame that the SELF people didn't think to put the link to that Yahoo group on their main page.

My Daddy and I spent the day at SELF. It was our first time attending and we had a blast! We saw Archer and Elegant and others that we know or at least can recognize now from other events, such as the last Frolicon that we attended.

Daddy finally bought that Dragon Tail we have been coveting for months now!! And the very talented Archer will soon be making us a very special flogger, which is to guarantee lots of great thuddy action.

I wish we could have stayed for the play party being held tonight. That is definitely on our to do list of fun things we want to try.

Well, all I can say is this. We are sitting, right now in Decatur, GA, and I will tell you that SELF is an absolute blast! I have had the pleasure of meeting Archer, and the lovely Elegant. Such welcoming people! Definitely worth the trip. The play party tonight was just awesome and I can't wait to attend workshops tomorrow!
