On second thought, the story doesn't belong here- sorry.

Thank you Topcat.....for what you have done and for bringing me this greater understanding this morning.

With deepest respect and admiration, I sincerely hope you have peace in your life.

At a loss for words,

Lawrence,

For those of us who have never had this exposure, your have shared quite a bit of yourself. Most of us will never know the experiences that you speak of, but it does not lessen the impact it has on us. The men and women who defend out country and its rights, are honorable people doing their best when called upon.

I hope in telling us, this has helped you in some way. Thank you for sharing it with us, i know it is not easy for some to share these parts of their service, they only share the colorful stories and fight over what hill they were on when this or that happened, this gives us the personal real side of war and life in the service of our young men and women is truly like.

And thank you for being there for us and the call of our country.

You are an amazing man... depth and intelligence, strong and gentle...

I am always in awe when I read the things you write.
Count me as one more fan Sir.
Thank you.

I think I understand your feelings. I did get a chance to read it but could not post a response. I was speechless.

I read this piece three times before you pulled it. It was an excellent piece and I was very moved by it at many levels.

You are probably right that it may not belong here, but please do post it somewhere else (if you can bring yourself to do so), as the message is one of great strength and feeling, capturing the bizarre dichotomy of Selfless Service to your country and your men.

Find a fitting venue for it, please, where it can get the exposure it deserves, and post back a link to it here.

Thank you, again, for sharing this piece of yourself with us.

Hickory

I came back to this thread this morning to reread what had been written, and found myself very disappointed that it was gone.....

I hope that at some point in time you feel you can repost it for us.

My dear Friends-

I felt a bit funny putting it up in the first place- It really took up a lot of space that wasn't about BDSM, or support or education. I took it down largely becuase i recieve many lovely heartfelt notes of support and gratitude, which I was honored to recieve.

But I didn't put it up for me- It was my story, but it wasn't supposed to be about me- it was for all the soliders and sailors and marines, the airmen and the support personal, who give their time, and sometimes their lives, to keep the rest of us free. I have been looking at it, to try and make it more general, but that seems to mean rewriting it as the sort of thing that can be found elsewhere on the net.

I do thank you all for the kind words, here and in private

Stay warm,
Lawrence

Topcat, it may have been for all the soldiers, marines and airmen etc but you are one of those men... and due thanks.

From everthing I have seen you post, I think you're likely somewhat embarrassed at the responses you have received. It's part of who you are. :) and what makes you admirable.
I'd like to read it again too. If you rewrite it to make it like everything else on the net, it will lose the personal story and I think that would be a shame.

I was going to show it to a friend of mine. He was a gunner in a Huey and was shot down and wounded in Beirut.
If it's posted elsewhere, please post a link here so I can forward it.

regards,
MsC

I missed it as well - and I'm sure that it was something well worth reading.
