9. Eliminate ALL 'moral' laws concerning drugs, prostitution, censorship.

But NOT eliminating alternative 'private' insurance and/or medical coverage.
17. Eliminate the income tax, replace it with national sales tax. Different for different goods sold. 0% for food, and as high as 50-100% for those previously illegal products such as drugs and sex)
18. Eliminate all tax on savings and investment income.
20. Eliminate all property taxes for all residences owned and occupied by people over 70.
21. Establish national Drivers License / ID, and national vehicle registration. Eliminating ALL state DMV.
22. Eliminate all government supported monopolies such as cable TV.
23. Eliminate ALL EEO/AA programs.
24. Institute English Tort system regarding civil awards, requiring loser pays cost of litigation.
25. Establish rotating paid arbitrator panels staffed with indivituals with a background in law to replace jury system. Require ALL litigation (civil & criminal) to be heard within 90 days of the case being filed.
I think 25 planks makes a good platform.
And oh yeah, annex Canada & Mexico. Annexing Mexico would eliminate the illegal alien issue (outside of the Roswell reference anyway) and God, if you ever visit the Baja peninsula, it's beautiful and SHOULD be part of the US, cause it's such a hassle to visit their now due to the border crossing issue. As far as Canada, they already lost hockey, Molson is loosing it's market share as an imported beer, and it would be fun to really piss off the French speaking part of the country. But the biggest reason would be to get rid of the hassle of having someone slip you a Canadian quarter. It's a fun game through when you get one, seeing if you can pawn one off on someone else. It's cheating if you just put it in the middle of a role and bring it to the bank.
In case anyone's interested, I'd be amenable to a "Draft Merc" political movement, to run on this platform. Also would serve as a not-so-benign dictatorship, or even in consideration of my ancestry, emperor. (Although I've already committed to the more kingly title - Merc The Just)
