Hi there,

My boy loves doing puppy play, but most of the gear you can find for it (outside of just collars and beds from a pet store) is pretty hideous.
There's lots of beautiful pony play equipment around, but is there anything like that for other animal play? Maybe gloves that look more like paws? The only things I've seen like paws are just really simple mits. Does anyone know anyone that makes anything like that, or specializes in animal play gear?
I have to say I'm a sucker for asthetics, so I like attractive, well-made costuming and gear. I've even done some up some basic designs, so if there's nothing out there I could work with a leatherworker to get something custom made.

Thanks!

Wish that I could also find some good, and realistic looking paws.  I have seen a set around somewhere that actually did have a pawpring pattern on the bottom, the major issue i have with those was the fact that they only had three toe pads and a heel pad.  All those pads were simple round pads, in my opinion should at least have a close approximation on the right shape as well as the right number of toe pads.

We purchased a Doggy Leather hood from EAT Leather.   It's extremely nice and gets lots of attention when worn in public. :)

As for paws, I seem to remember seeing some rubber ones, but I wasn't horribly impressed with them.  I have some nicely padded lockable leather mitts that we use.  I'll try to find links for them and the paws I found and post that info later.

I think these sites have some items
www.extremerestraints.com

www.erosboutique.com

www.adulttoychest.com

Also some costume shops or party shops might have something you can use.
Adult stores that carry clothing may have something too.
One place I go to has the book handy so I can order things if its not in stock or something they normally carry.

During Halloween I got My kitten his fur collar,a headband with furry ears and a kitty tail right at wal mart,I know its late for that. But you can be on the look out next year.

That site that Gavving posted had some gorgeous hoods...but no kitty ones. Kitties like leather, too, yanno!

petdave -> RE: Animal Play - puppy play gear (1/23/2007 5:09:28 AM)

Check out an ebay seller called desireesdarkersecret... i haven't bought one of her hoods, but they look very nice (i purchased armbinders from that seller, and i was really impressed with the quality... i would have expected to pay twice as much for them)

Temptressofsouls,  My hood came from Eat Leather as well,  they didn't have a fox hood before I spoke with them.  One night I got a wild hair, after stumbling on their site,  I decided to ask if they could custom make a fox hood for me.  They welcomed the idea of trying a custom hood,  though a bit on the spendy side.   I suggest that if you really want a kitty hood, you could ask them to create one for you, Better yet sketch one up and let them see if they feel they can create it for you.

At the vet's today I saw the booties for dogs to wear in the snow.
I know they dont look like paws and might be warm, but they are adorable looking doggy mittens...lol

Just adding to rusty's first, I'm guessing that the paws you are talking about are the ones from Jt's Stockroom

http://www.stockroom.com/Puppy-Fist-Mitts-P2619.aspx

they aren't bad, but perhaps not really realistic....the hood is nice though

i know its a fox tail, but (as a puppy) i've always liked this tail, if you want a tail for outside the clothes then myfavouritehat selling on ebay is one i've bought from

The stockroom ones look pretty cool.   If you can get an image of what you want, I will make it for you.

DDarksecret -> RE: Animal Play - puppy play gear (3/12/2007 9:07:10 PM)

Hi there,

We just added some pup paws that you can remove the shell when you only want to use the fist mitts. Similar to the stockroom design so if you want to change the paw print let us know, we hand craft everything ourselves using Tandy Leather 8-10 oz Latigo hides.

We also just added some new dog hoods. Please contact us for more pics or questions.

Thanks
Des

cheers

damia -> RE: Animal Play - puppy play gear (3/14/2007 8:17:42 AM)

As far as the kitty hood...i asked Eat Leather about one. They said they would try to figure it out, and would get back to me when they had something figured out. i haven't heard back from them, but i'm sure the more people ask for it, the more likely they'll be to work on it.

Specifically, i asked for a big cat (panther) hood...very different from small cat (domestic) hoods, i would think.

And if you look at www.fury-fantasy.com, under 'stable', you'll find a cat mask! It's not a full hood, but it's a pretty nice mask, i think...for a domestic cat, that is.

And for puppy play gear, if you've never thought about it before...have you considered going to an actual pet store? Just as examples, here's a few things that might be useful for puppy play:

Bowl Buddies Jumbo Stainless Steel Bowl

Circle T Leather Leads

Booda 3-knot bone (rope)...bet this would be a good gag, too, if you put ties behind the side knots *cough*

Other places---
