This is meant with much respect :)
But wouldn't Gor people be upset with that?

(cause I was thinking of adding them to the list but was afraid I'd get flammed)

I don't wonder why such as Anne Rice hid behind pen names to write bdsm novels, i can kind of understand that. But others like stephen king i just dont get?
At least the bronte sisters had a reason to use pen names, women were not published in their time.

I am Gorean, I see nothing wrong with facing facts... Many of the recent sci fi conventions have tried to blackball Dr Lange from attending, hence my in some circles remark.  Besides I have asbestos skin ;)

I wish you well,
Thadius

Stephen King wrote Gerald's Game ..It is about bondage, a heart attack & a secluded cabin

I cannot wait for the day someone is arguing about my PenName and my Real Name over my Novel.... lol... yes I have a BDSM novel that is doing rather well and it was the Beauty series that was part of what inspired me to decide to right erotica and BDSM, but mine is more romance...

Story of O was more fantastical, but an emphatically deep slavery which makes for lovely fantasy work! I have not read the so called "sequel" to Story of O, though.

I didn't read the book..but I did see the movie....I wish someone would remake it....using the movie standards that we have now.  I'm not holding out much hope for better acting though....I am somewhat realistic....LOL

See if you can track down the (roughly) 10-hour miniseries on 5 DVD's (or 10 VHS).  Made in the 90's.  I'll let you be the judge about the quality of the acting.

Assuming that the thread was about erotic novels with power exchange, or novels with power exchange, I submit the Marketplace series by Laura Antoniou.

I also thoroughly enjoyed Topping From Below, by Laura Reese, although readers should beware some bestiality they might find disturbing.

If the subject is BDSM authors who used pen names, Lady Green and Catherine Liszt are both pen names used by Janet Hardy in the past. Nowadays she is publishing under the name Janet. She's a pretty amazing woman, awesome to watch at play, fabulous to talk with.

Some very nice references that I am sure many will be refering back to for some enjoyment
Thank you

So which VIDEO version has everyone found to be of superiour quality?

I have seen links to another newsgroup offering downloads to the made for TV (how authentic can it be?) version. I would much rather have the whole dvd than spend time piecing parts together. ;)

I thought Exit to Eden was a great book showing the realities of relationships - where one might loose interest in the lifestyle, or one introduced takes such a shine to it that they suddenly outpace one with more experience.

The movie was funny, and as a work of it's own kinda cute. It doesn't really count to compare it to the book, I don't think, though it did have it's erotic elements. I do remember a definitive desire to eat croissants after both movie AND book. ~grins~

Story of O was more fantastical, but an emphatically deep slavery which makes for lovely fantasy work! I have not read the so called "sequel" to Story of O, though.

I believe Hollywood needed to make something that would be more palatable to mainstream vanillia viewers as not to scare them away from perverts like Us. ;)

I wonder just how many that watched it were introduced to BDSM for the first time and decided to pursue thier inner expression and discovery?

This is my all time favorite erotic works. The relationship between beauty and her captain......OMG. When he demands she ummm show herself, I was hooked.

Anyway, I have read interview about a million times, no way is it hotter than the dullest moments in the Beauty Series.
(unless you have a Vampyer or blood fetish???)

Remind me SirDiscipliner please........what was on page 135?

totally agree

Well maybe some of Us like to add all the books together for that really nice encounter...;) hmmmmm

As far as it being 'made for TV', yes, it was made for TV in a sense.  It was made for European CABLE TV.  Not broadcast television.  In the sense that there is full nudity, simulated sex, simulated insertion of butt plugs, sorta-simulated whippings, its no different than a feature film.  Assuming relatively equal acting, wouldn't you think that 10 hours of 'X' is better than 90 minutes?  As opposed to touching on certain scenes/subjects, it goes into a little more depth.  I'm an appreciator of either/both.

Jeff

Would it really need to in order to be popular?

Is society ready for a nonexploitaive version that would be true to the real thing?
