This is a true story:

Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox recently decided to throw the book at a drug dealer, and try to stick him with everything he could.

The drug case was one in which a dealer traded some Oxycontin for sex with a waitress.  Under Michigan law, any penetration connected to a felony can mean that the sex act is classified the same as rape, and you can receive the same sentences as rape, child molestation, etc.  Life in other words.  It's just that no presecutor had ever considered charging someone in this manner, except in cases of sexual crimes.

Turns out that adultery is still on the books as a felony in Michigan as well, so that if they wanted to prosecute you for adultery, you could get a life sentence for it.

Now, for the reason I posted this in the "Humor" forum:

Turns out that Attorney General Mike Cox admitted in November 2005 to an adulterous affair.

The wonderful laws we still have on our books- and even more wonderful men and women who claim to protect and uphold them with honor. Talk about hypocrites.

Is Mr. Cox a Republican?  Just curious.
