My Mistress would like to brand me and we have discussed it alot.  I am Ok with it from the standpoint of being with her for the rest of our lives.  I have questions concerning continued pain from it, or does it go away.  Another question is location.  She wants it at the small of my back, where alot of women get the tribal tattoos.  Anyone having gotten or given a brand I would love to hear from you.

Sorry, no advice to give, but was privledged to watch one being done last month, and it was the most powerful ceremony of committment I have ever seen.  Best wishes to both.

I have not been branded as I never made it to the full collaring wiht my first Dom.
We'd intended on branding beong a part of it.
From what I hear the cauterizing pen branding hurts way less than the hot iron method. The pen also is known to leave more clearly defined lines.
From individuals that had been branded it seems to take about three weeks to be mostly comfortable, and about 5-6 weeks to heal all the way.
I also heard over time the definition and thickness of the brand deterioates some and over time it may lighten up a lot if not deep enough.
I've also heard to freeze 2 clean washed bricks (like a house wall brick) that's been boiled for 10 minutes (to kill germs) overnight. The day you're being branded you should pull one brick out and hold it to the area for half an hour before the brand. Have a 2nd one ready for after the brand. The freezing your skin before and cooling it off faster after help with the pain a lot.
One man even made a steel block and cut the brand out of the center. Wen he branded his slave the block had been frozen. He put the branding iron much like a puzzle piece into the center of the frozen block and branded her like that. She had planned on it being real bad. When he said he was done she tought he was joking it hurt so little. The next day she indeed got sore and it took a couple of weeks to heal.
Good luck to you and your Mistress,
suzanne

i was branded as part of my collaring using a violet wand. The brand was set deep into my body and will be there for life.  i was branded "slave".

It did not hurt anymore than a tattoo and was embedded in my left buttock.
It took 3 weeks to heal with no complications.

Branding is complicated and not to be taken likely.  For instance if done wrong, say if a circle is used, the entire surficial venous system can be compromised leaving an open sore that will heal not leaving the desired brand.  Also often branding will result in complete healing without the desired body modification scar and there are methods that increase scar tissue formation to leave the desired look.  It is specialist territory.  Either find one, or research enough till you became one.  Is the journal Piercing Quartely still about?  I'd bet that's a good resource.

Somehow I spaced out and posted my response on the wrong branding thread.  Anyways...

If you do a search on here you'll probably find about twenty threads or so on branding as of late.  I was branded about a year and a half ago and have a website up that has some information and a slidehow that chronicles the healing.  Its at:

I do My branding with a paper clip...This is not one of the highly reccomended
options. But I personally have several from this procedure and havent had a problem.

Neither has bishop,or My kitten or My harriet.

The circle is actually kind of cool looking.I like that it looks almost like a cigar burn...which is a great cover story for anyone who doesnt want people to know.
I have pics of My brands I can send from the other side if anyone wants to see them.

how did that work?

I have a violet wand but it's an antique from about 1915ish, so I haven't really tried fitting any attachments other than what it came with... am I just missing something the newer ones offer???

i just came across this post, and wanted to share my experience. Hopefully there is someone who will be glad i rescued it from Page 4 :)

i received a 12 strike brand, the kind where the metal is heated up with a blow torch until it is glowing, then applied to the skin... and yes, 12 strikes means it happened 12 times... There is a picture of the finished effect posted on my profile here. If anyone would like to see the other pictures, i am happy to share, just send a message on the other side.

Like the OP i was really concerned about the pain, but i have to say that there was not much actual pain. Of the 12 strikes there were three incidents of pain that if added all together lasted less than one second. The location (left upper shoulder) is not as tender as other parts. i am sure that is part of the reason.

To be fair to you, i must admit there is a sensation i was unaware of until my branding. It is hard to describe... beyond "pain"... such an intense fear you want to leave your body in that moment, and that is somehow rolled into a physical sensation for which there is no words. i was unprepared for it at first, but it was not pain. When it was over i flew for a day and a half from the rush of it.

The best part is the effect it had on Master. Seven months later i can honestly say He has touched His mark on me every day. It has become one of my favorite parts of my body.

If you are branded, i would love to hear your experience, and hope you will post about it.
