Well, I didn't think we were any more rough than usual, but my throat has been killing me since monday night (its friday). There may be infection, as I bring up orange-yellow phlegm. Aside from a fever the friday before, I don't feel sick. Then again, I was getting better wednesday morning until I went to the gym and worked out. Then it hurt much more thursday and today. My neck lymph nodes seem to be a little larger too. This sucks, and there is no head here until it is resolved.

I've got wild theories about abrasion and biofilms and oppoptunist pathogens and even yeast and STDs, but does anybody really know? how long would an abraded esophagus take to heal? Has anyone had this happen? Its really inflamed and owie ow ow. I'm sick of jello and tea.

Honestly it sounds to me like you have some sort of infection, and its relation to oral sex is just a coincidence. This is cold and flu season, and your being exposed to a group of people at the gym probably introduced you to a bug.

I think you should go to a Doctor and have your throat cultured.
If it's and abrasion as you assume they'll b able to give you sound advice, if it's an infection you'll be treated.
Win-win situation is going to get it checked if you ask me.
For comfort til Monday when the Doctors are open gargle with warm salt water 4X a day. Be sure to put your head up and make the sound gaaaaa as you gargle to get it deep in the back of your throat.
