Status: offline 		His money and assets stay his. But I control them.
I would hope that he had enough trust in me to know that I would use any monies for our good as a couple.
After his commitments have been fulfilled.
Slaves offering to spoil me with presents are laughable.
They obviously have no idea what D/s really means.
If I was doing this for money I would be a professional.
If I was doing it for some of the services that subs offer I would employ someone.
This is about the physical, emotional and psychological well being of both parties.

Celeste is right, the damn way the replies work here uses the name of the person who posted last as posted to.

The OP and I go way back.  If he ever returns to the thread, which he never does, he will know exactly what I mean.

Status: offline 		It would terrify me to let someone else handle my money - unless I knew they had previously handled investments, etc, and pretty successfully. I hate handling money, and investments (beyond simply paying bills) - I really just hate it. I am not in my "comfort zone" at all when I do, and have little experience at doing it.

But still, handing over everything to someone with less (or disastrous) experience than I have, when it comes to handling investments, etc. just seems foolish to me - why, simply because they are the Dominant, should this be some sort of "rule"?

If someone actually knew what they were doing, and felt comfortable taking that over for me though, I'd welcome it.

Status: offline 		I would if a slave have to be very supicious of someone wanting to control all my possitions and earnings that were owned before we became an item..I insist that a slave have an interest bearing account in her/his name only in which a fair share of current earning are intrusted...WILLIAM

Status: offline 		Meh. I don't particularly worry about the fact that my girl makes far more money than me. She's been in the workforce for a number of years, is smart and capable, while I've been finishing up my post-graduate studies. Equally, she's far better with money than I am -- it's just not where my talents lie.

Eventually, I'll be earning enough that she can throttle back on the time she spends at work (her goal is to have a part-time job, twenty hours a week or less, so that she can focus on the home). If something bad happens, one of us can lean on the other for temporary support. She'll probably maintain the finances, in terms of investments, accounts planning, &c., although everything will be in my name.

Status: offline 		As a slave, i totally agree with my Master taking all my possessions, or money.  I am surrendering myself, which is the most important thing to me.  Material things, and my savings can be replaced if there ever was a breakup.  Why does money become such an important issue when the lifestyle is about people !  You choose the slave or sub for who they are, not whats in their bank account.. thats just gravy !

Status: offline 		Not really..... but if you know of any, you can give them my name..... but seriously, I have been living this life a very long time, and I have gone through periods, short ones thankfully, of little or no work, and I was very thankful that at those times I had a slave that was able to get us through.  Money has little to do with anything, if you don't let your ego get in the way..... and that is true in any relationship.

There are more things that can go wrong in a relationship than a breakup. What if your Master became ill, or died in an accident.....you would have nothing to fall back on. Please make sure there is a way you will be taken care of should something happen

I am sub, not slave. I take care of all our finances. I am one who has more money than her Master. He doesn't care about that and He wants nothing to do with what I have - according to Him it is for the (grown) unmentionables that I had before I met Him.

Money IS important simply because it is a necessary evil. It buys our food and keeps a roof over our heads. I feel strongly that I have a duty to be able to take care of myself should Master be unable to, it is not just His responsibility.

Status: offline 		Sure, I have one now.  Angel makes more than I do. Who cares? His having more money than me doesnt change how we interact or how we relate.  It does mean that he picks up the tab for dinner a bit more often than I do.
I never really thought about it, until now, since I had no idea how much he made and he had no idea how much I made until I started looking for an apartment and needed to work on a budget.  By that time, he was already mine and it wouldnt have mattered any how much I made.

Wills take time to be settled, what if they need money right away? I suggest, if a slave/sub is going to turn over everything to their Master, that there is money put aside in an account in their name, and he has the access card - make sure you know where it is and what the PIN is, just in case.

She is getting a $700+ unemployment check as we speak, paid for my, and the boys trip to Anthrocon where we all met for the first time, and knows and accepts the fact she might end up having to support me while I am in school. Currently, due to the fact employment in the area generally sucks and she has only part time, this semester I will, for a short while, make more money than she will, but that probably won't last when I start taking classes again.

Well, we weren't discussing "right away", we were discussing what would happen in the event of a Master's death.
