I was just responding to it being a book of fiction... there are all kinds of factual books in the world that are not written by God. BTW, I am not agnostic nor am I religious. I have no deep feelings one way or the other about the topic.

Well bearing in mind the lack of substantiation for many of the facts contained in the bible I personally would lean to it being historical fiction. Some facts are verifiable elsewhere, such as the Roman occupation of parts of the middle east, some "facts" are not, such as the geneaolgy of many of the family trees, floods, plagues, and lets face it most of the "events" and people mentioned in the bible have no other sources, even the nailing to a cross the son of a Nazereth carpenter has no verification elsewhere and being the worlds first large scale beauracrats the Romans were pretty good at record keeping.

On the other hand I think Julia that you are agnostic if you have no deep feelings on the subject, if you had deep anti-religous feelings I would class you as aetheist.

I am very spiritual and I believe in God, but I am not a Christian and I have no deep religious feelings as I do not belong to The One True Way crowd

Definition of agnostic... does not know if there is a God

Definition of Atheist... someone who believes there is no god whatsoever.

I know there is a God, but I have not trademarked him for a religion... I have no deep feelings about different religions because I think they all have truth to them. I respect all religions and I respect faith. I just do not have a religion that I am faithful to, and would prefer to keep my mind open to all of them... but that does not mean I am agnostic at all

Thanks for clarifying Julia, whilst I know its not really relevant to the topic I enjoy your posts and the more I can know about where a writer is coming from the easier to understand :)
