We've had a flea problem for months and been going through a variety of ways to combat them.  Last week we had things managable and on Thrusday night, i was slammed.  Slammed to high heaven and i was again slammed Friday night.  In those 2 days, i've more flea bites them i'm willing to count.  I prefer to count "areas"

Saturday morning i noticed something odd.  A cluster under neath my right arm, down on my side.  They arent flea bites.  The tell tale sign of flea bites on me are small red dots (orginally) that end up as small scabs.  I tend to get a slight allergic reaction to bites (any toxic bite) and i frequently itch through the skin.  So my flea bites are basically tiny, tiny spots of missing skin.  Unless of course its a cluster and then alot more missing skin.

This cluster i found are Larger.  Larger circles of red.. but not red.  Its like the top is white (but not pus filled) with a ring of red around it.  I've a cluster of 7 on my right side, 3 under my arm pit.

Last night i spent the night with Master, who has no fleas.  This morning i noticed a bigger cluster, of non flea bites on my left hip going down to my thigh.  About 14 there.  They dont itch as bad as the flea bites, i havent broken skin and the original cluster  hasnt "healed" at all.  (unlike the flea bites)

i'm absolutetly fricken perplexed.  Doubt its spider bites - no one else in my house has them - if it was some sort of allergic reaction i'd think it'd be more wide spread - i've no signs of illness.  And they have absolutetly no characteristics of the flea bites.

My mother cant figure out what the hell they are either.  Which REALLY perplexes me as she always has an answer.  She did bring up chicken pox, measles or other wierd things.   She also mentioned i go to a doc which is almost frightening coming out of her "doctors dont know crap" mouth.  So while i wait for the morning to roll around so i can go to a doctor, i was wondering if anyone else has a clue?  Maybe put me on a good track so i can make good use of google?

One other note - i do generally speaking have a damn good immune system.  Rarely if ever sick as a kid, no broken bones, no cavities as a child.  I've had chicken pox and i was *not* sick.  So i could have some strange crap and not be showing many symptoms of it.  I will note that thrusday and friday i was feeling below the weather, tired more then usual and absolutetly cranky as hell.  I figured it was mental/pregnant...... but god knows!

Any ideas while i wait to go to a doctor and ask them?

Well, this might sound crazy...but the best flea soap to get rid of fleas etc...is the orginal green palmative dish soap.

If you ever have trouble with fleas again...but since you mentioned this could be that...try bathing in it.....remember the orginal greeen is the only one that works.

as far as treatment that usually are self limiting...but to help with the intense and painful itch  hydro cortisone cream really helped alot!!  or benadryl cream

Bed bugs are a possibility as red ants, brown recluse spiders especially after a new hatch.

All the carpets have been steam cleaned and some borax stuff has been put down in the carpets.  (i didnt do the chemical part)

In between the clusters appearing i DID spray my bed with raid.   No they arent along a vien.. there abit sporadic.

Not red ants... i can FEEL fleas on me.. and i would FEEL ants on me.  oh boy would i.  Plus when i get bit by ants, i get red itchy spots with a pus bubble on top.

I'd also think i'd have more of a reaction if it was brown recluse.

On that note.. my wee one is usually in my bed....... and she hasnt popped up with anything.  Which makes it ALL the more peculiar

Thanks for the suggestions - )

You need to consult a physician and he will undoubtedly send you on to a specialist in skin diseases. It may very well be a hidden disease that now becomes apparent due to no longer being suppressed by your immune defense as a result of your pregnancy.

It may be psoriasis, but it may be something else entirely as well. You need to consult a physician and have a proper diagnosis made. Conceivably it may disappear once you have delivered.

The way you are describing the spots, I am thinking of fifth disease.
But you should just go and see a physican as soon as possible. Especially considering you are pregnant and have a small child living with you.
I hope it will turn out to be something totally harmless to have a good laugh about. Take care.

It's time to bring in a professional pest control company to find out exactly what they are and to exteminate them.  Be certain they use ONLY a "target specific" method.

Try using Angie's List for your area to locate a reputable company.

Bed bugs are very easily identified by taking the sheet off of the bed and checking the mattress for their fecal spotting and feeding stains.  if there are little black spots on the bedframe/mattress you have bed bugs.  The only sure fire way to eliminate bedbugs is to get RID of your mattress, boxspring, carpeting and padding in the room most infested and reinstall new.  Throw out ANY bedding that cannot be bleached.  Buy yourself bottle of lice furniture spray (anything that contains pyrethins/pyrethoids) and spray ALL furniture and rugs in the rest of the house. Coat furniture legs including bed legs with petrolium jelly. (INCLUDING your little one's bed legs) The nasty little F****rs can't climb up the petrolium.  I had to deal with this after a visit to what I thought was a reputable hotel.  *shudders*  Again, like Atlantadom said, you should concider bringing in the help of a professional pest destroyer!  IMHO avoid the small private companies and go for a big chain like orkin that has a guarentee of a free return if the problem isn't solved.

I do however agree with Rule.  You need to see a doctor.  To hell with waiting - get to the ER NOW! Because if you are pregnant your immune system is very unpredictible because of your hormone levels.  If you are having a toxic reaction to a bite of any sort the toxins are in your bloodstream.  which means the toxins can possibly affect the baby.  If you are not pregnant but are nursing, the toxins and your histimines which are no doubt elevated due to allergic reaction can affect the baby as well.  (I was unclear if you were actually pregnant at this moment)  I hope all goes well.  If you find out what this is an need help with the research let me know.  I do internet research for a living (don't worry - I wont charge ya -us moms have to stick together!)

Good luck Devilslilsister!

Ha we have pest control.  Not only do we have best control, but my mother comes round and sprays my place for me.  Ontop of that, my 4 animals are and have been on frontline.  It should be absolutetly amazing any bug in the perimeter of my house is alive.  Heck, i kept worrying that we'd end up killing my dog/cats off with all the flea control.  But i cant stand fleas.............. pet peeve of mine.  (either that or phobia)  Ug.

::smiles::  Glad i got on here, i was just in the process of convincing myself it was no big deal and i didint need to call up the doc.  Its early, freezing, and well........ whatever.  Suppose i'll call anyways.

Ring worm?  You get it from your animals.  However, see a doctor so they can properly diagnose you.
Whatever it is, I'm sure some cream will fix it right up.

i was looking at the
psoriasis pics and i cant tell.  Not fifth's disease - thats like red inflamed skin.

strange crap man.

<grins>  i remember when you last posted to my "what the heck is wrong" health posts sub4hire and you scared me so bad i ran off to the ER and found out i was pregnant.  LOL if it wasnt for you - i prolly would have never gone and it would of taken ages for the truth to dawn on me.  Especially feeling like the crap i did, the whole "monthly" thing would of completely flown my head.   Thanks = )

I don't know if I should take that as a compliment or what...hehe.  Anyway, I've had "some" medical training.  Also seen a lot in my life.  Though here on the board's when you ask a question you have to realize it is just people talking for the sake of talking.  Really you should'nt rely on any of us here.
Look at the lymphoma thread as an example.  Some things should be handled by professionals period.
Anyway congrats on the baby.  I think I read somewhere you are in your second trimester?  Got a name yet?
