I love Jane    I hope she jumps out of a perfectly good airplane without a parachute and lands on a telephone pole and thrills herself to death.

Bitch had a guy try to stop me from going home by ordering this guy to come through my window and steal my car keys.   He met Mr M1911A1 and backed off quickly.   Strange how that will open a hole in the crowd that blocked my way home.   Next time I just carried Mr M1 carbine on my dash and they stayed away.

Your thinking my problem is with policy, it isent, its about what she an individual did in regard to American personell, my beef is about certian people, not countries. Its a bit smaller in scope then what you want to talk about.

I'm not going to get into a discussion about politics of Vietnam with you, forget it, you got plenty other people who will indulge you.

So it's irrelevant if she was actually correct?

You don't like her, so it's ok to denigrate her acts, without actually thinking about if those acts were justified?

Exactly, it is irrelevant that millions of Vietnamese died, that over 60k of our troops died in that conflict. All that matters is she was a movie star and she made a mistake (she admits this, and wishes she could take it back) over 30 years ago. We all know Jane Fonda was the reason that we lost Vietnam, it had nothing to do with it being an unwinnable war.

I hear the same vitriolic spew directed at Cindy Sheehan, and she actually gave up her child to the Iraq War, but she gets bashed by the same haters that Jane Fonda gets bashed by. I would spend 24 hours with either of these ladies over their haters any day of the week.

What people do not realize is, when you hate someone you feed them energy... I do not feed that which I do not respect... I just will not do it anymore. So the more you bash Jane Fonda.. the more her power grows. I am convinced that if GW had gotten bashed a little less he would have imploded a lot sooner..

I told my unmentionables that hatred is a psychic cancer that will eat you from the inside out.

While I make fun of the Simian In Chief and the nitwitcons, I dont particularly hate them or anybody
else.

I disagree with their actions, but I respect them as fellow visitors to this thing called Life.

Exactly right, I am often disgusted by the actions of certain people, but hatred only embitters the hater... but I do enjoy laughing at them, laughter increases one's lifespan, hating shortens it.

bludemonn -> RE: Jihad Jane??? (2/1/2007 6:15:05 PM)

and who wants to live forever huh?

'We all know Jane Fonda was the reason that we lost Vietnam, it had nothing to do with it being an unwinnable war. '

Erm I may be a limey and not a degree level student on the subject which I think you would need to be to even touch on the War in Vietnam or indeed the histories of that region but I seriousley doubt Jane Fonda lost you the war in 'nam!

Maybe it had something to do with having several different Presidents each with their own agenda?

BOUNTYHUNTER -> RE: Jihad Jane??? (2/1/2007 6:24:15 PM)

WHILE I don't hold a grudge,I believe "jane" and others like her should have been sent to live forever in nam just my views and I am sticking to them .As a vet wounded 3 times in nam for my country and come back to see people like her able to say and do what she wants because folks like myself and million or two others have fought and bled so she could have that right.... I have mellowed but can"t forgive or forget..step lighty but carry a big stick..BH

My question is this, if you really fought for my freedom to say anything I like, and Jane Fonda's to say anything she likes, then why in the world would you want to negate that sacrifice by deporting people for using their freedom of speech?

The constitution gave us that right by the way, not napalming peasants in Vietnam

In the words of the great Homer....(simpson) ....DOH! and can this post BE any more complicated! One thing I have noticed about collarme's awesome forum is that its post writers tend to veer off at a bloody tangent all over the effing place! The Vietnam conflict as EVERY body knows was a very politically complex issuse spanning alot longer than just the U.S. involvement, one thing I did read which I would like to talk about is the actions of 'celebrities' someone wrote that you shouldn't want to maim or kill a person just for their opinions, yes true but when you are in position of power or celeb status you have a responsibility NOT to incite or appear biased, we call it propaganda, something Ho Chi Minh used against the States and because of 'free will' and the right to speak etc we are all falling into the same trap again!...my solution? ..... covert death squads! I just need a crack commando unit (not crack cocaine), 50 million quid for expenses and the best 'leet' hackers bill gates can spare!

BOUNTYHUNTER -> RE: Jihad Jane??? (2/1/2007 6:43:20 PM)

I wouldn't have either.maybe she should have went north with the other bunch of the traitors...BH

What did you ever do to Ms. Fonda that would cause her to order someone to come through your window and steal your car keys?

Wasn't it your peace group that was infiltrated by a police officer, or does my memory fail me?

Jane Fonda was not making a mistake in Vietnam. She had her orders to infiltrate and be subversive in the peace movement and to attract malcontents to her and she did. That actress is acting and wears a mask and she is doing it both on stage and off stage. She is the enemy of all people that want peace and that oppose that war monger in Washington. And no-one would ever guess it, because she has such a sweet smile. (That kind of acting is called acting a smile.)

We have a very narrow view of the world as it is due to corporate media. I am thankful for celebrities airing their opinions. In many ways they are like the rest of us, yet they have a means to let their feelings be known. Every citizen should have the right to speak in a free society, if others want to listen to them, then they do... if they do not, well they don't.

Most of the propaganda in this country is spewed by corporate America

celebrities' should be held rsponsible if what they say or do puts our men and women in harms way,I am sure every one agrees with this or do you?....BH

The constitution gave us that right by the way, not napalming peasants in Vietnam

Our Creator endows us with Rights. The Constitution says what the Federal Government MAY do, and some specific examples of what they CANNOT do. Topped off with the whipped cream of the 9th and the cherry of the 10th Amendments.

The ONLY person who fights for MY rights, is me.

And again, the question which forms the crux of the "Was Dissent Justified?": Why would the US support Diem when he disobeyed the UN, but overthrow Hussein when HE disobeyed the UN? Was Diem's government in South Vietnam Lawful? And if not, what duty do Citizen Soldiers ( who in a Constitutional Republic are NOT slaves, btw, and have a POSITIVE DUTY to oppose unlawful orders... ) have in actively questioning and opposing it?
