On average, people eat about 3 pounds worth of food a day for the stomach to feel full. If the three pounds are of high calorie foods full of sugar and fat, you gain weight. The more of the total food is of high fiber, the less is of sugar and fat. Oatmeal is fine, add fruit to it. The steel cut needs long cooking, do a potful on the weekend and microwave it on a workday. Add fruit.

Additionally, if a typical dinner is of meat, starch and one vegetable, than an easy change which helps with weight loss is to add a second vegetable. You'll eat the same total amount of food but more of it will be vegetable and less of it will be calorie dense meat and starch.

Oh, wait....you're a Domme. Who makes all these healthy receipes and cleans up after?

Hehehe.. well when I'm not engaged in a 24/7 TPE ..I cook and clean up after myself ...

quick fish recipe.. 1 piece of white fleshed fish ( aim for slightly larger than palm sized piece)  two tomatoes chopped, 1 clove of garlic chopped and a half teaspoon of oregano, a slice of lemon (optional)
mix the tomatoes garlic and oregano together, season with salt and pepper. On a sheet of foil place half the tomato mixture , then the fish on top, cover with remaining mixture.. fold foil up and over to seal it all in, bake in oven 200C or 400F for 20 mins , serves one.. add a nice side salad and you have an easy lunch..add steamed veges as well and you have a main meal for dinner. You can also substitute grated fresh ginger for the garlic or have both seasonings together.

I'm a big fan of adding nuts and dried fruits to salads..try raw cashews and chopped dried apricots, it'll really lift the salad.

slice a couple of medium tomatoes and a red onion.. layer in a flat dish.. pepper and salt  then drizzle with balsemic vinegar..serves one as a side salad.

I do my steel cut in the microwave for 4 minutes--need to use a large bowl as it bubbles up.  [:)]

I love to do that for the work week!

I found a great recipe for oatmeal on the Equal website using chopped apple, dried cranberries and pecans... being in New England, I use walnuts though.

How about rice?

I make rice with curry and sour green apples all chopped up. Don't know how that would do in a diet, but it is very yummy.

Brown rice or wild rice works well for a healthy diet.  White rice is digested like white flour and raises blood sugar.  One of my favorite whole grains is wheat berries--tastes like a very crunchy rice.[:)]

Oatmeal is a great way to start the day on a weight loss campaign, Combine some walking with it. Just sitting around wont help much. I am not being a smartass to you. The spring weather will be here before you  know it, get out and walk a bit and you will be suprised how much better you will feel.

Plus, oatmeal is a thing that's easy to eat, I am rarely hungry in the morning nor wish anything, easy quick less thought items get eaten more by me, unless someone else makes breakfast.

Sure! It is wild rice, curry, and chopped sour green apples. I ad a bit of sesame seed oil to taste. I tend to make a lot of it because I have like most of my unmentionables friends over every weekend.

Considering everyone will like more curry or less… it’s to taste. Same with the sesame oil, I used just a bit to give it a hint of the flavor.
