Well, all I can say is, that concluding someone "cannot be Dominant if they live in an apartment" tells you whether that person is foucussed more on "externals" - like what someone wears, or what they do for a living, how they dress, etc. (perhaps) - as opposed to what kind of "aura" the Dominant in question exudes as far as his personality (and consequent "Domliness").

At least, that's what such a concern would broadcast to me. I'm not saying this concern is either "bad" or "good", but to me, that's what it says about ther person making such as statement.

It would also make me wonder if they are looking more for a "long-term boyfriend" or a "Dominant" - not that one cannot have both in the same person, but generally, I would look for the latter first, and hope the former came with it. Sometimes, they come in the same person - and sometimes not, I'd guess.

Personally, i just don't see why living in an apartment would be an issue for the reasons which you posted. for me it wouldn't be feasible to live in an apartment unless it was extremely sound proofed as this is an issue even in the house W/we live in at this time.

I don't think this last part has anything to do with it. I am one of those looking for my dominant to be both a dominant AND a long term boyfriend. If he isn't interested in both, I won't get involved with him. This is a completely separate issue from where he lives, how much he makes etc. I don't care about those things.

Well, I guess every Dominant in every major city in the world no longer qualifies, since they don't exactly have a lot of sprawling ranch houses in New York City, Boston, Chicago, London, Amsterdam, Paris, etc. etc. etc.

Uh, I am not a Dom, but I live in an apartment. There are cows and a farmstand down the road. I didn't want to live in the big city. I didnt want the noise& traffic or that it never really got dark. Apartment doesnt have to mean bustle of the city. Also it depends on location and economy. I was shocked when I moved to this area at the prices. Turns out it is because there is a ski resort on the other side of the mountain.

I can't imagine living in a house all alone. The emptyness would drive me crazy. Somedays the quietness of this apartment is frustrating. I also didnt want to have to go plow or mow the lawn, fix all of the mechanical problems etc etc --I would rather call my landlord/manager and have him hire someone or take care of it.

I can see the draw of apartment living, especially for someone who is alone. That wouldnt turn me off from Dom as long as he was financially responsible. However, if we had a family and were tripping over each other in a tiny apartment, THEN I might have a few things to say.

To buy into the premise of this thread means you don't believe women can be dominant. Considering how many of them expect financial gifts and support from their submissives, it runs directly counter to the notion that you must be self supporting and such.

That said, best thing I have ever done was buy a house, just wish I could get women to send me money through the mail like a pro-dom!
