As a submissive, how do you define the line between being too independent or too dependent? Is there a middle ground?

You're too independent if you're scared to ask for help when you know you should.

You're too dependent if you're scared to stand on your own when you know you should.

I think in terms of function- if you're functioning in the real world and happy as a fairly independent adult, then you're good.

remember the phrase "codependent" tossed about in the early 90's?
its still used but not as much.

think about 2 large circles....
one him and one you, totally seperate, yet strong in and of its self, totally self aware ....
slowly merge the 2 until they cross over.....
independent yet dependent on and of each other ...
if the 2 circles totally override each other, that is unhealthy in any relationship for both self identities are totally lost in the whole ...
but the amount of overlapping can increase and decrease according to need, desires, self actualization, whatever....
that is what i was taught is a helthy independent:dependently relationship.
Each relying upon each other when when needed, free to be who they are when needed yet totally part of each other.
