Everyone have their own discription to what the "title" Master means. This is what the Thesaurus (don't even get me started on the verbs..) has to say;

master - an artist of consummate skill
master - a person who has general authority over others
master - a combatant who is able to defeat rivals
master - directs the work of other
master - presiding officer of a school
master - an original creation (i.e., an audio recording) from which copies can be made
master - an officer who is licensed to command a merchant ship
master - someone who holds a master's degree from academic institution
master - an authority qualified to teach apprentices
master - key that secures entrance everywhere

Very good points, Gent. Although I don't need anyone to instill in me the ability to organize and manage my funds. I do that quite well all by myself, but I agree with the thought.

Thank you for the welcome CP, but I've been on cm for little more then two years. I just changed nick.
As for the boards, I read a lot more then I write, as most of it seems to be pointless and stupidity.

My apologies if anyone takes this to heart and feels offended. It's just one persons view.

Although you do say "principally yes", I don't think you should try and impose your definition of Master on others. Your definition is yours...other people may have their own definition of Master.

Thanks for the interesting link, MFM.

There was one line that got me thinking:

A Master is willing to stand in the middle of his slave’s projections about the Master without moving, neither supporting nor fostering the illusion, nor destroying it.

To my understanding, projection is a defense mechanims, a kind of denial of one's own undesirable thoughts and feelings. I can see in one way how it fits: Goody two-shoes all tied up. He does whatever he wants and since I'm powerless to stop it, I might as well enjoy it. But I have a hunch the statement refers to something else. Can you expand on that?

For those unfamiliar with the home city of the poster, there is practically a munch every day, many days multiple munches catering to catagories of kink many here have never even heard of.

Depending on how you define it, there are three or four public playspaces, plus smaller pro-domme establishments that host events, not counting the many private parties so almost every weekend has a couple of events and Power Exchange at least is open every night, not sure about the play spaces as I haven't been in several years.

Odyssey hosts events where they rent entire convention centers and empty out dungeons as far away as Sacramento of equipment and thousands of people attend.

They have BDSM classes every weekend in multiple venues, QSM being by far my favorite. Nothing like getting a class on bondage from Midori in a space the size of a small living room!

How on earth anyone can find time to be online chatting and playing with long distance subs is beyond me.

Oh, and one of the best things about SF is in real life you never hear morons talking about old guard unless they are old gay men!
