Health is usually lowest on the list when it comes to investing any money you do have in it....

You cannot invest money in happiness or love, but you can invest money in your health.

Obey1....years ago...I spent half a million dollars on my health. I had it..had just sold my apartment buildings.

I am walking and able to live a normal life..somewhat........health is expensive if you have problems.....and now....there is nothing else to be done...am just told I am not suppose to me walking.....they don't even know why I still can........

so don't judge people on invest in their health....i spent and still do everything I can.....no thing helps

Don't flame me, its merely my opinion typed here. (I can have that right? After all M'lady DOES allow me on the forums...)
Look, people in the scene aren't as shallow as the few that actually speak out for us. Remember, its the bad guys that speak louder then the better ones! Honestly, I've had lovers that ranged from sticks to fat. And I'm skinny. I'm of the opinion that if someone has a good soul, good heart and is intelligent who gives a fuck if they're fat!

However, there might be more fat people here because we don't really judge by looks as much as we say we do.

p.s. I can totally tell people are going to read my profile and flame my ass. *sigh*

Spent, Buy, Invest. These are all different terms.

Money cannot BUY health.
You SPENT money on your health after it had already deteriorated past the point where money did not help.
If people would INVEST money in their health BEFORE they have problems, then that is what I am getting at here.

No judgements.

Of course it takes more than investing money. It also requires an investment in time and effort along with the money, such as staying on top of every current blood test available, getting X-rays and colonoscopys, all annual recommended screening tests, etc. or going to the gym 3x a week and performing a very intense workout, shopping for an cooking the best foods instead of eating out or the prepackaged microwave meals, etc. Researching and buying the best supplements, locating and reading the better books about the subject, etc. It all takes time and effort. Money alone does not solve anything, it is just an enabler or a prohibitive brick wall for the poor.

But yes, once you lose your health, you had better have some money to attempt to preserve what remains or you are in deep trouble.

Ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, stitch in time saves nine, etc.

I enjoyed reading your opinion here. I'm relatively new to all of this, am "curvy" (fat to me is like calling a really thin person "skinny" -- derogatory in a way). I have never been to any sort of public BDSM gathering at all, and am hoping to in the near future with my Master. I must say that your post made me feel more comfortable about it. I was a bit concerned about others judging me by my frame -- am tall and also "big-boned" (sooo true and not a cop-out) and somewhat muscular mixed in with fat... LOL...

Anyhow, now, I know with my Master by my side and people are more open and less judgementat about looks alone, I will be a entirely more confident!

I am overweight because I eat more calories than I burn off..until that changes I will continue to be. I am in bdsm because I enjoy it. I dated vanilla men and found them very boring in bed, most of the Doms I have been with were more exciting and took control (a must for me).

I think there is about the same percentage of fat people in bdsm as there is in the regular world, its just here you see people in more of a group. Go sit someplace sometime and just watch, you will find a good portion of them are overweight. Its something serious that is attacking America right now, and it doesn't look to change anytime soon.

I never had trouble finding men out there, or on here... I just happen to like a man that will control me. I don't mind others not finding me attractive for being fat, I don't really find it attractive in a partner myself. I have set high standards for anyone I am with, and hope that anyone I am with feels the same way, no person should ever settle, be they a size 4 or 24. Master just wants me to be adorable, kind, smart, loving, sexy,etc..., and I fit those standards very well.

To each their own.

I've sat and read the mulitple pages in this thread. This is something to ponder.....what would the world be like if we all were alike, the only difference being our sex, female or male. Would there be the need for the BDSM lifestyle if we were all alike? Why would one man/woman want another man/woman as his/her sub/slave if we were all alike? Our physical and mental attributes make us the individuals we are. If a heavier person is not what you're looking for then there's no need to critize those who are because that isn't your preference. The lifestyle is no different than the real world. There are those of us who can accept others for the way they are on the outside by the simple act of getting to know them on the inside.

There is an old Twilight Zone episode I saw as a kid. Every girl had to choose between about 7 different names & faces, then become that name and face. It scared the heck out of me... that homogeny could be forced.

Perhaps, as the basis for BDSM is honesty, sites like collarme enable people of any size to present who they are. What Women's Lib did for me is taught me that I can choose. My picture is on my profile, my profile is completed, people can read it and decide. Men who dont like their women overweight can pass it by, in fact within the profile I have given permission for people who dont like overweight women not to feel obliged to tell me why..
Finding D/S has enabled me to be honest about what I want and need, if it falls in with what someone else wants and needs, surely that is the point? There is someone for everyone, just takes patience and common sense.

i did, i am normal in all aspects and have a healthy body, i do not say being fat is healthy, but is not a ticket of doom either.

Now perfering somone that is thin, there is nothing wrong whit that, somone will prefer Twiggy, somone Dolly Dimple, and most pepole will perfer somone inbetween. That is a preferance, it is talking down to polole that is wrong. Firstly, most pepole that are very fat did not get that way becouse they are lasy, they got that way becouse of ilness, mental or physical, secondly, a fat person is not less worth nor stupid, nor ugly.

i agree whit you to some extent, my mother is nature therapist, and money is usualy saved of the health budged on pepole, she can atest to that, but when it comes to diets, do you know of many millions are used every year by pepole trying to get thin?

Not all ilness is due to neglect, somtimes it just happen. To say somone that have been ill have been so becouse they have not taken care of themself, now that is just plain rude. Pepole get sick, thin and well as fat pepole and while some ilness of predisposed in fat pepole, that do not mean thin pepole do not get them, not to mention that thin pepole aslo brake bones, get lumonia and a million other illnesses. Yes not getting extremly fat, woprking out and eating healthy will better ones chance of staying healty, but it is b no means a guarentee.
