That conveys the basics, I think. As for details, well, I'm very, very new to this. I only discovered my Dom side due to online roleplaying taking on elements of control and ownership, and the more I did, the more I found myself responding to it. I started doing some idle research into individual things I found interesting, collars and spanking and the like. Which in turn led to reading about D/s practices as a whole, and other individual elements, and generally the more I learned, the more I realized this was definitely something that is a part of me. Browsed a couple forums and discussion groups, participated enough to realize how little I knew. Found this site and I like what I see, very sleek and active. I think I'll stay awhile.

Right now I'm trying to reconcile my newly discovered desires with more longstanding ones. My Dom nature is only part of who I am, it doesn't define me. There are other things I'm looking for in a relationship, and my wants in a submissive only compound the issue. I'm determined to keep seeking though...me and my standards. I guess I just know what I want. If it's a rare combination, then so be it. I'm 20, I got time. Not that I'm looking to waste any more of it than necessary.

It's late and I can't think of anything else to say. I've got a profile too, which repeats some of this information and gives some more. Eager to observe, learn and connect, so here's my start I suppose. Hi.

I found my Dom side a bout 18 months ago
i was always raised to fully meet all the needs of my partners (mother lol)
I was shocked to find this (horrible) side to me, until i started to investigate and found others like me

Please take my advise, be carefull and take it slow in developing what you want make sure you talk and learn as much as possible about the different aspect of being a Master
But most off all have repect for your sub Most new doms forget it is about trust and caring for one an other, you are in control and your sub would give them selves completly but onle if they trust you. only then you can BOTH fully enjoy the lifestyle

Yes, the most common mantra I've heard is how important communication and trust are. I feel pretty positive about that as it's what I've always wanted anyway. I'm a very empathetic individual, always have been. So I actually look forward to those elements.

Abeyant,
Welcome to the site and to the lifestyle. It is so refreshing to see a young man find his dominance desires and begin the journey to develop it.

It is a journey and, as a submissive/slave, I appreciate someone who understands it is not all about “now” “sex” and “me”.  It is about relationships, balance, complementing each other, and growth. It is about developing one’s natural tendencies and leaning how to channel them with others and someday with that one special person.

You have done the first few steps and I applaud you for that. I wish more were mature and thoughtful as they enter into this lifestyle.  Nice profile, and introduction. Keep on seeking advice and guidance.

Have you found a group, munch, or club to attend? Please do.

March 23 is an event in Portland OR, not too far away. Go check out Kinkfest  www.kinkfest.org

As you attend groups, watch for a while, see who has the reputations and characteristics you aspire to and spend time with them, both Doms and couples. Ask a Dom or a couple to mentor you.

Again welcome to the site and lifestyle Sir, be well and enjoy the journey.

~ann

Ann, no, I haven't yet found a local group of any sort. It's something I intend to look into. I've only been out here about a year, I'm originally from a much less developed and populated area of Virginia. I still feel a brief flash of personal pride when I manage to find a parking space. So my networking is not quite up to standards in any regard yet.

Why oh why is everyone online and active and replying at 3 AM, anyway? I have a system- I make my posts as late as possible, then when I wake up the next day I get to see what sorts of replies I've gotten, it's like my own little Christmas morning. If I make a topic in the middle of the night and it's active right away, well then the whole system breaks down. I'll just have to start staying up later.

No, entirely single at the moment...not in too much of a hurry though. Some things are worth taking the time to do right, and at the moment that involves some more observation and experience on my part.
