Most states have a safe program. I dont know the name. If a woman gives birth to an unwanted baby- they can drop it off at a hospital or firestation with in 72 hours. [3 days]  NO questions asked.

It is free - anom0us and safe. you do not have to give your name.   the cities #311 operator can tell you the closest place.

This law has been on the books for at least 10 years. Despite that- the word hasnt gotten out.

Today most schools on the east coast are closed due to the snow. A good time for this post.

Plenty of caring parents who cant concieve would love to give care-

Keep this in mind- in case your friend needs help. ok?

Certainly good information to post.

There will always be a percentage of people who live in complete ignorance of some or most things in life for various reasons.

Most if not all of the scared pregnant teenagers that I come into contact with, including ones who some how hide their pregnancy, it is not about not understanding the choices they have but actions driven totally by scared of what their parents reactions and what they might do to them and I have seen that fear do some very irrational and horrible things.

I do not put much into it as a political thing in terms of some national agenda. I have seen this with rich and poor and all races and I am sure liberal and conservatives as well.

I have no idea who is looking in on the board.  I did note 1 or 2 babies found in teh past few years.

This is such an overlooked issue...and the more the right wing conservatives try to limit the availablility of abortion the more it's going to happen.

We live in such a pro-natalist country that we are far more worried about what to do with babies than in preventing their being born in the first place.

The current agenda is trying to keep teenagers from having ascess to abortions and on a side note, they also make it difficult for young adult women to obtain sterilization (thankfully I had a very liberal minded doc who agreed to do mine at a young age.) They want everybody to breed and produce new consumers and have no room in their limited belief structure for women (of any age, but especially young ones) who don't desire babies.
