"Well, you know, I hate gay people," Hardaway said in response to Le Batard. "I let it be known I don't like gay people. I don't like to be around gay people. I'm homophobic. It shouldn't be in the world, in the United States, I don't like it." snip/

hmmm. shouldnt be in the world? shouldnt be in the US?

Well I have news for you. Gay people- dont like gay people either. The selfhatred manifests in alcoholism- dug abuse- and suicide.

Sportsmanship- comes to mind.  This dude lacks sportsmanship.

It's a case of remain quiet and have people assume you're stupid than speak up and remove all doubt.
He's a sports star, and they're not known for their proper behavior, higher learning, or open minded thinking...   The only time I admire sportspeople is if they give me some indication they are decent human beings in addition to that particular talent...  Come to think of it, it's the only time I admire a PHD/intellectual or an artist too.    M

This type of media stunt- seems an attempt to revive a "has been".

None of us have to "like" anyone. But we must co-exist and share the same planet.

I'm really surprised he would say this...I've always liked Tim Hardaway and his cross-over moves to the hoop. I was a regular attendee at Golden State Warrior games when it was ''Run TMC'' Tim, Chris Mullin and Chris Weber and the Warriors high scoring full court game. Hardaway is /was a San Francisco favorite. I've watched him give a lot of local interviews and never a mention of this.
