natural redheads *do* have a higher tolerance for pain.  I've seen it in scientific literature!
I don't mean auburn.  I mean RED.

this slave has found the information in the following article to apply to her, having had experiences with post surgery and also extensive dental work requiring more anesthetic than the dentist had ever used on anyone before.

Redheads Need More Anesthesia to Block Pain

Genetics Likely Involved in Dosage Required to Put 'Under'

By Jeanie Davis WebMD Medical News

Oct. 15, 2002 -- That fiery redhead spirit! It seems that redheads require more anesthesia to "go under" than other hair colors do -- about 20% more.

A new study has implications for redheads who require surgery. It also gives researchers a better understanding of how anesthesia works in humans.

Red hair is the first visible human trait, or phenotype, to be linked to anesthesia, says study author Edwin B. Liem, MD, a researcher with the University of Louisville, in a news release.

The link is likely due to an improperly functioning receptor on certain cells that give pigment to people's skin and hair, he explains. Liem says this dysfunction triggers a feedback mechanism that increases release of the hormone that normally stimulates these cells. This hormone also stimulates a brain receptor that increases pain sensitivity.

"In a nutshell, redheads are likely to experience more pain from a given stimulus and therefore require more anesthesia to alleviate that pain," he says.

So long as the carpet matches the drapes, red heads seem prone to marking easier too.

dorei,
I prefer and require bare floors to carpet, but would agree with your observation. beth can be bruised by a strong wind.

Definition of Sadistic: being grabbed by the hair, slapped in the face and kicked between the legs...then saying: "Let's have sex now"

Due to a bizarre genetic game persons with red hair and fair skin are at risk to become an endangered species...the redheads, that is the real redheads, o Pel di Carota, for centuries butt of jokes and regularly teased, but in reality, are fascinating women, sensual and alas, on their way to extinction.

This was stated by an alarming study carried out by the Oxford Hair Foundation, declaring that original redheads, are rapidly disappearing from the face of the earth. This is all due to a trick caused by Mother Nature. These women, according to scientists, represent up to today only 1% of the world population, these numbers annotated this declination in the last 50 years...Why are there fewer copper toned heads in this world?

The answer arrives from genetics: hair color is determined by a gene which has 40 variations, in which only 6 give the color red. In addition, it is also a recessive gene: in order for offspring to have red hair, he or she has to inherit not one, but two of these genes, one from each parent, otherwise the other gene would dominate the other, and therefore determine another hair color...

On no,  I can assure you that, despite being a redhead my entire life, I am not even the slightest bit feisty.  I'm sweet, demure, placid, docile, uncontroversial, and practically ovine.  Really.  Honest.  Uh-huh.

So is there any truth to the face that red hair in a submissive equates to a firey defiant volitie submissive?

I'm a redhead, and I definitely have an intense and passionate personality.  I wouldn't call me defiant or volatile, though.  There's this thing I do have called "emotional self-control".  :)

I'm pretty blunt tho--does that count?

I've read somewhere that redheads tend to have a higher tolerance for pain.  Don't remember the source, but it was based on some kind of research.

Edited to add: Oops, I see that Mercnbeth already posted it.

Also, the idea that redheads are becoming extinct because redheadedness is caused by a recessive gene doesn't explain anything, at least not without further explanation.  There are all kinds of features caused by recessive genes that aren't disappearing.

I personally think there is some truth to the story that redheads are more of a handful. I also think dominant signs such as submissive Leo's are also more of a handful than say the same submissive born under a submissive sign such as Pieces. Proper handling and training though ultimately will determine how submissive they will be, in my opinion.

I'm a natural burnette with red highlights but decded i wanted a more red look.  My red now is from a bottle but my strong will, smart mouth, my independence, and attitude come from within and will be tamed by one man only to him i will be willing to kneel and even crawl knowing it gives him pleasure.  To all others i will just ignore.

i am a natural brunette, with natural red highlights, making my hair appear red in the sun, i also have hazel green eyes... i am a very passionate and intense soul, my temper is always kept under control, unless i am pushed where i believe it is unfair... then my temper makes it debut.  But, i believe anyone is capable of that, when being treated unfairly.

I too am bottle enhanced. having both red and brown in my natural color....I just look better in red.  Blue eyes, fair skin, Irish and Dutch.....long fuse, one hell of a temper when I do go!  But even when I was playing with blonde, my disposition was the same.....Type A personality, definitely defiant and outspoken.

I saw this and just had to reply.  I am a natural-born red-head, and have been a submissive all along.  I'm not sure if it's a fact that we're all submissive, but I wanted to at least raise the count by one.  :)

beth,

I am curious, what SPF level do you use, living in So Cal and
having such a fair complexion?  I had a friend with your coloring
who had to use shampoo with SPF too because her scalp would
sunburn!

I'm not in California, and I'd never live there, or in a lot of southern states because I fry like an egg.  I've never tanned in my life, but I have had serious sunburns that left tiny scars.   I've discovered with me that SPF 30 means I start burning in about 20 minutes.

currently the cabinet holds SPF 50 and 60+...big floppy hats, long sleeved silk or lightweight linen coverups and umbrellas are all strategies for this slave to avoid the sun that energizes Master and turns his skin a deep seasonal brown.  this slave cringes at the thought of "sunbathing" and going to the beach during the day or one of the popular waterparks in the summer was always something this slave would dread.
Unfortunately, back in the late 60's and 70's permanent damage was done that cannot be erased, however, it sure would be nice if everyone saw their scars as being "cute", the way some folks view freckles!
