Well do you think that someone can serve decently as an online sub or slave? How would they be able to do this? In your opinion what way would they best serve if they were to? I ask because I just had a post along these lines and was curious. I'll post my thoughts later unless of course you find them first. Respectfully, Kali

Oh, this is such a hot button for most people! Personally, I tried the online thing for about a month, about ten years ago. It was a complete waste of time.

Yes. It easily can be done in a non sexual way. I ran a pretty large IRC room (100+) users often, I ran it like I was serving JohnQ Chatters because I was. It was my responsibility to maintain MOTD and the supervision/training of an OP team. After time my room became known as a comfortable place where no one was permitted baiting or flaming nor minors. Those were my only rules [;)] . I was able to keep the room going as well as it did because of the effort I put into not just the computer tech aspects but also the emotion there. Sometimes I had to put hours into talking to someone who was unhappy or confused about things, and I was always glad to. It was a service that I was happy to do for others. My last job? It was a joy and something I will forever miss, working in a bookstore where again I served. I made a point of finding just the right book for you to explain death to a UM. Or the wonderful historical novel you hadn't heard of. Short answer but I'm confidant you get the gist. It was non sexual yet gratifying for both me and the people I helped. Yeah yeah I copied this from my last post elsewhere. My stomach is upset and I didn't feel like rephrasing it all.

I think some people benefit from online relationships. We all seem to agree the connection between two people is very relevant to an energy exchange relationship. Who's to say this connection isn't of value to many? I imagine someone who is daily living in actions sanctioned by a Master or Dom indeed is submitting his/her life to the will of the one they serve. It's not something I can personally say I'd ever enjoy enough to undertake. I'm too greedy. I want someone I can touch, smell, and be able to experience the fire in his eyes when we connect. I can't get that in an online relationship. Even with real friends till I've spent a good amount of face to face time with them I'm still not really sure if I know them at all really. I do have some valued friends I communicate with in here I have not met. But I yearn for the day that per chance we meet in person as it would make it more real for me. I do know a woman who has a Daddy Dom online only relationship that's worked well for the man & her. She's buckled down and is going to college and everything as he's ordained it. She's also healed from some hard things she's carried around for years in an online daughter/Daddy relationship. He feels good being able to mold and heal her, and she feels good having an anchor. She really trusts him because she knows he wants nothing more of her other than her mind and spirit. I also have a dear friend who's tag line in here is "I get my kicks above the waistline sunshine.". He also seeks an online only relationship where someone will tell him what to wear to bed at night & other things like that. He also benefits from online communications & so does the Madams who talk to him. I think it's all relative to our own choices and both can be right or wrong depending on the people involved. suzanne

They can submit and serve very well within that capacity. But just as I'll never be able to reach the top shelf of the kitchen cabinets without a stool, cyber based relationships are limited by their medium.

it really depends on what the two people involved are looking for. if they're happy with online service, and finding creative ways to punish and serve, then by all means, go for it. many people are too real-time oriented to be fulfilled by an online relationship, but that doesn't mean that an online relationship can't be fulfilling for some. and really, if it works for you - who the hell cares what other people think?

I am of the opinion that online service is a good tool in the beginning of a relationship that will be going farther. While feeling one anotehr out, online communication and training are good ways to get to know one anothers likes and dislikes. The problem becomes keeping it from becoming repetative, since there are only just so many things that someone can do effectively online. AS long as the online training is leading to someont more hands on, I have found it to be a good thing. However, I have tried online only befor,e and it lacks the ability to keep my interest for very long. Hope that helps DV

Dear ravenairsprite, Ladies and Gentlemen; Being one of those ancient relics from pre computer lifestyle origins, I have come to my mind's eyes a long time ago, that where the 'heart' goes the body will follow. I see computers as a tool at my disposal. How people behave on line can at times open more to what a person is in the safety of privacy, a screen name and the like. If someone needs to always be a sarcastic twit, they do so safely behind a screen. This does save me the need to meet such a person so weeding is easier. There are some programs that have a telephone like capability so I can hear their voices. What a plus! I can quickly find out that if someone who is poor at typing may express themselves wonderfully well by this 'phone' through computer chat, such as AOL and Yahoo. Phone numbers are exchanged, which enhances the security feature for both involved. In my mind's eyes I see that those who dearly wish to participate in the D/s, M/s and or BDSM but, might be unable to physically interact in real life due to disabilities and or lack of local support and or munch groups. Although a person's body fails the spirit of a Dominant and or submissive; the mind, the emotions and or the spirit still is alive. It is my 'accepting' of all individuals flaws and all that wish to see those who cannot physically participate feel some of what a lot of people take for granted because they are able. I think that a person can serve decently if their core intent is genuine. Of course--there will be those who aren't genuine but, this can be found in able body realms as well as cyberland. True, they are denied the ability to physically participate but, for many--it is the first safe taste of what can be in real life. Just some thoughts. for some with an on-line means only I would say yes. somtimes online is the only viable way someone can serve, perhaps because of distance or just a personal preference, or inability to play in person, etc. decently is relative. :)

Hi Ravenairspirite. Yes it can be done, but it depends on what you consider to serve. I have done this with MADAM, between RT Sessions, and with some friends, who were helping me out, since I lost MADAM. The only way I got to SERVE, was by doig things, they asked me to do, that would please or make THEM happy. Luckily, it was things I loved to do to, like tormenting myself, as they watched on Web Cam, or wore/used certain clothes/shoes/toys that "THEY" liked me to use. Of course, I took pictures of each chore, so they could see that I had indeed carried it out, and also to give them a thrill or enjoyment. wellby definition id u meet someones needs u serve them. it wouldn't do it for me, but long before internet people had intense romance thru exchanging letters. there have been people i got close to online, not so much sexually tho

It is possible, but it would depend on the needs of the dominant, and if online service was enough service for him. A submissive can research for her dom, write for him, provide companionship, use her computer skills for a dominant. If that is satisfying for the dominant, and both derive satisfaction then it works for them. It did not work well for me and was just frustrating.. although I did not view my situation as service (although I did much of the things mentioned above for him). I have no opinion about how best to do this because it is a HARD limit.. not just a soft one. I want someone I can touch and be touched by, or nothing at all. The first dominant I explored with most of our relationship was over the computer and it broke my heart in too many ways to ever seriously consider that path again... and I got not even a fraction of what I derive from my present circumstance, and I truly serve my Daddy in anyway he pleases.
