Should I pick it out and make her wear it, or will she respond better knowing she will be collared and has a say in what it looks like? My Sub is very sexy and very much a lady out of the bedroom. Is it better to leave the Collar in the bedroom or make it something she will be proud to wear out at night?

It depends on what you want and, if you care, what her feelings are about it.

Traditionally, the owner chooses the collar, but it's quite common to choose together.

That all depends on the person. We have a fancy collar for the house and play parties that is only worn among D/s friends. This was picked out by both of us ... I told him what I wanted ... he went with my idea and found the final collar. I wanted something to represent my heritage so he had it designed with his own ideas.

I have a permanent locking collar that looks like a necklace that is worn during the day to work and outside the house.

My Mistress choose a gold necklace as my permanent collar. I didn't have any say in what she choose but I like it alot.

Daddy picked my first collar (my metal "wedding" ring) without any of my input which was fine with me because He spent time researching for the one He thought would look beautiful on my neck. the 2nd one (a leather one with a tiny heart charm and lace decoration - my princess collar) i received for Valentine's Day i had some input getting that one. the next one which will probably say "Daddy's Whore" is for my birthday in April.

I pick the collar taking into consideration of their vanilla obligations IE work and family ,a gold belly chain remind them of whom and what they are away from home..I perfer a metal locking collar for home and bdsm events..BH

If you are considering a collar then it is YOUR collar as she and all she is and owns is yours correct ?
You may solicit her thoughts but if you want to weld a tire iron around her neck then do so.. :-)

He picked and bought the collar (I gave some input on ones I liked too, but in the end, he picked it out and bought it)... I however, picked out and bought the Coach leather leash to give to him to go with it

I like the idea in having some say in any collar that i might be wearing, as i guess the more i like it the more i might enjoy wearing it (not entirely sure as i have never been forced to wear a collar i didn't like). That said i think the Dominant should have the final say in choosing any collar....and ultimately if they want to choose one without any input then its not my place to argue lol

i agree with you haha. i would just like to be collared!!!
One could always put a non-attractive collar on their slave and if over time they see that they deserve something with their own likes put into it than use that as a reward type thing.

Master Archer chose the first collar he gave me (6:1 stainless chainmail that I still wear after 8 years) and together we chose the pewter winged angel pendant that hangs from it.

He also hand stitched a leather chevron collar with his initials in silver conchas.

Two years ago he had his mother (yes, his mother) make me a pewter beaded collar.

He has sketched a stainless collar idea nd hopefully will be making it soon.

I bought him a wrist locket with a leather bracelet that has an "envelope" made of stainless steel that opens up. Inside is a metal sheet that is engraved with "slutjack property of Lashra" and the collaring date. He loves it and no one even looks at it twice. if you know your sub well enough, and I would hope you do if you are going to collar her, then choosing one yourself shouldn't be that difficult.

Master chose mine, it's a very fine gold chain, and I never remove it...it's very suitable for day or evening.

I picked out the collar for my sub. But we had looked at them together, and I did buy two. One for her daily life and one for BDSM settings. Both are collars but one can not be seen as anything other than a collar.

not everyone follows the same prorocol as YOU....this lifestyle is different for ever person....it seems a bit...odd to say ALWAYS when obviously many of the others who have given there own experience have not done it according to YOUR protocol......
