What can help a very insecure person relax and meet new people.

I get extremly nerveous and come across rude or anti soical. while
really I am wishing someone would talk to me.

You may find this outlandish but... try writting on a small tablet or even a blackberry. Sometimes the written/typed word comes across more clear than the spoken.

Contact the local bdsm groups and explain that is how you are....am sure one or two will offer to have a coffee with you one on one...and then go to a munch..is not so hard when you walk in and know a couple of faces.

I meet up with people all the time for coffee...then get them to a munch..make sure they feel welcome and are having a good time.

thank you , Your advice is sound and makes sense. I dont want to waste anyones time, Sometimes I feel like theres someone ot there trying to hel me and then i feel so alone. I know that the effort must be there on my part, but there are times that I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO.

ok nimcompoop..can you answer me a question....for myself

i met someone online and if they seem interested...i sometimes think i harrass them.....ummm encougage them to get out.....and always make sure that I go to where they say they are going for the first time...make sure they feel welcome and introduce them around....

so that is appreciated....am actually doing people a favor and not just bugging them?

It is very appreciated. Do they know its you? or o they spend thier night confused, I met a very nice couple the other night, I thought I was in the "right space", but after a game of pool I didnt know what to do. If you stand there and are wrong, you are a nincompoop. If you walk and are wrong you are a waste of time and rude.

A lot of times i will have coffee with them...or give them my phone number and they call and I meet them outside and bring them in.

I do whatever they need to be comfortable and have fun...but that is me....I just needed to know that I was doing good..and not bothering people

If you just want to meet people (in general) I would suggest joining a club or something that YOU like to do. It is easier to get to know people if you already have some thing in common with them.
You like to bowl, take it up, join with a friend. Have you ever bowled and not have a conversation with the people on the other team, or those around you in general? Just one example, but if you are comfortable in your surroundings it lets you be maore at ease and more talkative.

The only thing to do is to be mindful of how you are being perceived and act in a manner which you know will get you where you want to go. Think about it first, imagine a scenario, write it down, and then go out in public and try it. I haven't looked at your profile (yet) so I don't know if you're D/M or s/s ... but as the old tired adage says, Master yourself. (Sorry - it's trite but it's true in many cases.)
