I will say that Nicole Kidman looked terrible, and as usual, Jodie Foster looked timeless and classic. Helen Mirren? Hot.

There are a lot of anonymous beauties but none where sex rises from them like steam, that of course doesn't require beauty, that requires the X factor and you have that or you don't. I think Helen Mirren is ball crushing sexy but a little old to be still carrying the flag for sexy women but she's out there on her own, the other beauties just don't have the sex appeal.

Exactly!

It funny I clicked on this post and Nicole Kidman and Helen Mirren as my Master and I were talking last night and used those two as examples of the difference between physical beauty and sex appeal.

We both thought Nicole Kidman is physically very beautiful but has almost zero sex appeal while Helen Mirren maybe up there in years but radiates sex appeal.

I thought Helen Mirren was the "best-dressed" woman there (page 3, best dressed). I loved her dress - it made me wish I had a dress like that. She just looks so great for her age (plus, she is a very attractive woman anyway, I think).

I also liked Penelope Cruz's dress a lot.

Helen Mirren's movie, "The Queen" - wow. She was just so unbelievably good as Queen Elizabth II, it was almost hard to believe it wasn't really Elizabeth.

One of my favorite gowns was worn by one of my not-so-favorite actresses (Julia Roberts).  It was a vintage Valentino.

dress modeled on Oprah show.

Rachel Weisz is a good looking woman, first class smile and eyes, very feminine and definitely a servant in the making......have a look at the gown shot and her stance...she's basically on call and waiting for the nod from one of the trolls.

Susan, you're right about that!
I think Helen Mirren ALWAYS looks good!
Helen Mirren is the rare type of actor who can act and make it look like she (isn't) acting!
I don't care how old she is she just radiates sex appeal!
I used to love that series, "Prime Suspect" on PBS that she starred in back in the 90's. Great stuff!
Score one for England!

Spot on Popeye, quality viewing. Shame such programmes are few and far between, here.
