A dominatrix running what police call a "brothel" was busted today in Bedford Hills, Westchester County, NY. The tip from police came from a complaint by an anonymous letter(maybe a neighbor, maybe an upset client??). Below is a segment of the story which includes a video, with pictures of the dungeon and the huge estate along with more details.

What surprises me is the criminal possessions charges surrounding the stun gun.

The stun gun charge doesn't surprise me since it happened in New York.  They have some of the most restrictive gun laws - including tasers, stun guns, and pepper spray, in the US. 

This story just makes me depressed.  This type of stuff should not be a crime.  But hey, don't tell that to the 'moral majority', whatever.  A crime should be only when there is actual harm done to another person.  But, that's just me and my darn libertarian perspective.

The poor rabbis are terrified, which kind of makes me snicker.

“Once everything is out, there has to be a spiritual cleansing,” said Rabbi Samuel of the Orthodox Khal Adas Kashau yeshiva. “We won’t go close to that place until they move out. No, no, no — heaven forbid.”

I saw that story and came here looking for commentary. I can't get the OP's link to load for some reason.

I think this page about the house and women is a much funnier scenario. Interesting how the story's are about the same thing, but the slant is WAAAAAY different. It aint no mansion and it was rented out by an orthodox jewish school. lololol

Comically enough, the rabbis who owned the place said when they heard about it, they "didn't want to know any more details" about exactly what was going on. Now that's the sort of close-minded behavior that just keeps us going around and around in circles until we all go down the drain.

Maybe if they opened their ears instead of their mouths, they'd learn it's not such an evil thing as they think.

And while I'm dreaming, maybe they'll send me a nice new Ferarri.

The really bothersome part of this story is that police claim they busted a "brothel", when it doesn't sound anything like a brothel but a house of bdsm. If she offered sex to the officer, that's one thing, but if they're playing the "any kind of sexually implied contact" as sex as their justification for calling it prostitution, this is yet another nail in the coffins of those of us who wish to live this type of lifestyle in a more flagrant manner.

From what I have been hearing on local news, she was doing a bit more than scening with her clients, in comparison to the multiple other dungeons in the state (especially in NYC). I dont think she was having sex with them,so making that assumption, the remaining  implication from the way things are being worded would be that she was giving handjobs and inserting toys, so the fact that she accepted money would make it prostitution, but they are going to have a tough time proving that in court unless they can find a witness she actually did it to, implying it in conversation isnt enough to stick and I doubt a policeman would have gone that far.

As for the stun gun, unfortunately, from what i know, they are illegal in NYS.

I have seen her profile. I feel bad for her. I don't know her.
But I am assuming, that they had to bust her one way or another to close it down, and to do that, they had to charge her with something against the law. Her profile sounded pretty 24/7.
Who knows? The rabbi was proably her client/ slave? Who was upset? Whatever it was?
They made it sound like a crime to be a domme. It is sad and will scare slaves away.
I wish her the best and hope she will be fine.

My partner was charged as a "purveyor of pain" they tried prostitution too but she would never touch a client or allow masterbation to avoid those charges. The charges lasted just as long as it took her lawyer to arrive and expain what a shit storm they were in for. That was before my time so I don't know the details.

That implies an Orthodox Jew would never visit such an establishments - which is directly contrary to my experience!

I believe the more religious their upbringing, the more they are inclined towards ritualised BDSM.

The more repressed and 'in the closet' that they still are, the more inclined they are to go to a pro-domme than a club.

I don't see any such implication. Sirguym,  from what I recall about the incident last year, I think you may well be confusing the owners of the place who rented it out to the Madam with others who might have patronized it. Of course some Orthodox Jews  forsake or wink at their beliefs to satisfy sexual or emotional urges whether straight or kinky. Just as members of many other religious groups do. We all have powerful urges and lots of ways to justify them. But for the owners who have no such interests or cravings, there would be a deep need to cleanse the place spiritually before using it for religious purposes or to house students. Much the way, at the time of the original events commemorated at Hannukah, the temple which had been used by Greeks needed to be spiritually cleansed before being used again.

There's no reason to believe the owners were repressed or in the closet, or using the services of the expensive and upscale Domme. While there were, given the location, probably lots of secular Jews using the services,  doubt  many were Orthodox.
